What a day it was yesterday! The humidity was so high, that I started sweating the instant I walked out the door. It's not better today, it's worse...

Yesterday was one long-ass kind of day. Not bad, per se, just long.


I had a former "mentee" lose his fucking mind on me yesterday. It was full of lies and recrimination. Not easy to watch such a backward slide in a matter of 3 - 4 months. But when one starts to believe one's own press releases, well . . . . And, of course, it was all my fault.


Allah help him . . . .

A grasshopper remarked to me last night how much lower the humidity has been, so we had a small talk o the difference between that and temperature.

Well, it will be pushing 100 today.

There is some discussion over whether or not dousing the trailers with a garden hose actually cools them down on the inside...

I say they're just running up the water bill, pissing down the crew's back and telling them it's lemonades.

Yeah, the wee job paid off again. That's always nice.


We have 85 today and a chance of t-storms mid-day. That makes pulling off a roof to be a pain in the ass, but we'll do it anyway. This apartment complex is 95% occupied, so it's not like we have vacants to work over top of. They almost all somebody's house, so if we make a mess, then it's a real mess.


You have to hate when that happens.

Yeah, we get storms on almost a daily basis, and as discussed earlier, yes they do cool things, but they raise the humidity and that makes it hotter.

I hope that hell is dry...

One more day, one more day, ONE DAY MORE!!!

I could really use some sort of a weekend, even if it is a non-tradional one. Super T-storm last night, thought for a little bit that we would lose power, but it was only a flickering.

It's humid as a sonofabitch out there. The zucchini has caught some sort of blight and will be done for soon. The squash blooms and makes no fruit. But the tomatoes are finally getting it into gear.


I have some watermelons to check out at work, and then a usual couple of Saturday errands. Then it's back to the job and to meet with a former co-worker sho's going to show me how to scrap out these heat pumps that we're going to replace for maximized fun-n-profit. This should be educational.


For the moment, it's coffee. Coffee-n-tits.

Finishing coffee here, I think the garden is completely toast other than the banana peppers. Today, as soon as I get off, I am stocking up on roundup and preen so that I can kill pretty much everything there because it has gone to weed...

Then when it dries out I can rototill it and work in some compost and some stuff to lighten up the soil, it keeps trying to revert back to oak-forest clay.
 
Home from work. The Guatemalans were gittin' 'er done today. The heat was back with us some. Chingando calor!!!


The z00ks are officially done for. They lay down and died today. The tomatoes are finally getting off their tomatoey asses and cranking out some fruit.


Truth is, the stores have lots of gorgeous looking locally grown produce for cheap this year.


Off to shower and tart up and to take a family I know to dinner.

Slept in for me, too.


There will be production today, but it won't be fast-n-furious. I measured every single bath cabinet we have on Thursday, which means I ran up and down 150 flights of stairs. I still hurt a but and am rather sore. I have papers to shuffle, too.


And I promised to take the nephews to the rifle range this afternoon, too. I may have to take the night off from the hospital gathering.
