No hardcore pics allowed in AmPics. It doesn't matter that they're linked from outside sources.

You know, shit like this makes me so PROUD to be an American! Fuck freedom of speech, expresion or anything else, let the prudes take over. I love censorship in all its forms. "lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person"??? So when I'm eating my girlfriend, is that illegal? GOD BLESS AMERICA!

This is a privately owned website. The owners of the site have set up these ground rules to protect themselves against potentially damaging laws that are still being pushed in the current political climate. Whether you like it or not, the porn police are out there, and if they find content objectionable on here, it's not you they're going to go after, it's the site owners.

Frankly, I'm getting tired of all of the whining about it. You know the rules. There is a link to them on every single page in the entire forum, not to mention a sticky at the top of the AmPics board. If you're unhappy with the rules, then perhaps you should consider canceling your payment plan for your subscription to Literotica. What? You don't pay anything to post here? Wow. Then maybe you should cut the owners a bit of slack for wanting to cover their own assets.

If you pulled the stick out of your ass you would notice that my comment was not directed at this web site, nor at you or the rules as they are written. It was directed at the political state of this nation and the fact that some people in our government have nothing better to do than worry about what adults are posting and or looking at in the privacey of theire own home. I fully believe in and use CYA (cover yer ass). How ever, I am sick to death of my government telling me what I can look at, watch, read or in some states, what I can do in my own damn bedroom. I understand why you have the rules you have. I don't, how ever, like the reasons for them or agree with them.

If I misread you then I do apologize to you. That wouldn't have been the first, and probably not the last, statement of that sort made to me, personally, or about this website in particular. It's starting to wear on my temper.

Believe me, I understand all to well. Personally I think (as I think I made clear) it's assinine and rediculous that it's even an issue in our supposedly free society. As long as it doesn't involve under age persons or any form of non-consentual acts, I just get see the problem. It's ok to have sites showing body parts, dead people, blood and violence, but showing pussy is not legal? Seems a bit odd to be. Any way, keep up the good work and let's all hope that the good 'ol US of A pulls the stick out of its collective ass.

So how about the photos linked in this thread?

http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=498637&highlight=barely+legal&page=82

I fail to see how these photos are acceptable but a photo of my husband's hand resting on my belly is a no-no!

.

I have no authority over the GB. You have to take any questionable issues over there directly to the Admins. I have enough on my plate with the SRP and AmPic forums. Also, a pic of your husbands hand on you stomach should be fine. Was it deleted?

Nothing personal against you, Paen. You sound like a nice person and I'm sure you are also doing your best to be a fair Mod.
I am merely puzzled by how are rules applied in Lit. It seems that hard-core porn is acceptable in certain sections of Lit and, at the same time, soft-core or merely erotica is banned from other sections. I'm trying to find some logic in it but I fail miserably.

Dec '05, that's when all this propriety hysteria started.
Here's where they were deleted from http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=237631&postid=15342954#post15342954
and here are the two photos I am talking about...

As far as I'm concerned you can put them both back up. We have no issue with pictures of genitalia . . . it's the gaping "here is my pussy" shots that I've been asked to remove. The same goes for men. A man reclined, or standing, with an erection is fine. Just no simulated masturbatory pics. I removed the most popular pic from my own thread because of that. It was a picture of me wearing a shirt and tie, partially undone . . . fully clothed, with one exception. My hand wrapped around my very erect cock. Since I don't have it in me to be a hypocrite, I removed it, and any other pics I had of me in similar poses.

THANK YOU!! That is the clarification I was looking for earlier. Last you will hear from me on the subject as I am sure you are getting tired of the same "griping". Keep up the good work.

Thank you Paen. I'll repost them (for the Nth time) and hopefully they'll stay put this time.
As well as another few of me, in a nightie and panties, which for some reason kept disappearing back then.

But then I also recall of another Lit lady, very frustrated because Lit kept pulling a photo of her foot!
Oh and the photo of an airplane, pulled because there was a "crack in the window"
It was a small photo and all you could see was a vertical line in one of the windows.... but Gawd forbid it might be a real butt

I really do believe that, with all the rhetoric about rules and US laws, there should be a Sticky or a thread with links to the actual laws in question, court decisions that supported and/or eroded them, and ways interested folks here can advocate for their change.

An Advocasy thread here would be an awesome and useful thing. It is all fine and well to say "vote" but, as we all well know, that's just one part of a rather complex process. One way to bring change is to break the law and go to court and have it thrown out. In fact, most draconian laws were overturned that way. It takes money, and courage, but the ACLU does this every day. Links to the ACLU, and other organizations promoting the protection of Civil Liberties, would be extremely useful.

Also, have lit's owners received legal advice about this? If so, I'd love to see that included here.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental right, and it is every individual's responsibility to defend it.

Lastly, Literotica could be sold to a public corporation whose chief officers are its current owners. That would protect them, as individuals, against any serious prosecution.

My two cents.

all this complainin when there are countless sites that "anything goes" on.....just move to one or more of those....dang, just doesn't seem that complicated to me!:cattail:

Goatchick, that's like saying "If you don't like America the way it is, move to some other country." Americans have a history of fighting for our freedoms, and working to make things better.

Martin Luther King Jr could have moved to England, or any other number of countries where race was not a legal impediment to being a fully functioning citizen. Had he left, it may have taken many more years to bring Civil Liberties to minorities.

I have countless friends here, and there's a culture unique to lit that isn't found on other sites. I don't think it wrong, or inappropriate, to advocate for improvements when improvements can be made.

I guess that, for me, Paendragon's comments seemed dismissive, rather than dealing with these issues in a substantive way.

Through honest and meaningful dialog, we can tap into the collective energy and intelligence of the lit community and find ways to advocate for positive change. I cannot see that as a bad thing. Lit's owners and mods should facilitate it, not try to squeltch it.

I think this whole discussion belongs in the Darkroom instead of here. Having said that I don't find Paen 'dismissive' at all. The owners have shown time and time again that the will not get in pissing match over the rules, either here or on the other forums. Paen's job is to police those rules, not argue their validity. I didn't see in his job description that he was a lawyer, just mod.

oh please.........there are no issues.....what i see are rules from the PEOPLE THAT OWN THE PLACE! simple as that.....if you don't like the owners then find somewhere that you do like the owners....or better yet, start your own...this is america, you can do that.....but all this complainin serves no purpose. :D

almost seems to me that you are sayin you could come into my home and do stuff i don't like just because this is america......i own my house, it will be my rules or move on....

This is the comment I was speaking to. If you re-read my comments, I was not complaining about the rules. I was making suggestions about how the Lit owners could create a resource to help the lit community advocate for a change in the law through support of political and social organizations.

I also suggested a way that the Lit owners could protect themselves, legally, from civil and governmental litigation.

Both are good ideas, and should be considered, not simply dismissed as complaining.

Also, I am just curious: How many citations from the 'porn police' have been issued to Lit? I ask because, right now, there are dozens of images on the Am Pic thread that violate the rules, and the law.

This seems quite sarcastic, and dismissive, to me. Perhaps I should suggest that, if Paendragon can't handle the criticism of his actions, no matter how well intended or supported by the rules, that he should step down as mod. After all, we all know that the law requires dispassionate and even handed enforcement.

all this complainin serves no purpose.

Can you quote from me a point at which I complained about the rules? I'm entirely certain I wasn't doing any "complainin," however.

almost seems to me that you are sayin you could come into my home and do stuff i don't like just because this is america......i own my house, it will be my rules or move on....

Um. No. That's not what I was saying. I not once ever suggested a change in the rules. What I suggested was the creation of an advocacy resource so that Lit members could support a change in the Federal Laws that gave rise to the rules. Can you see the difference?

There are plenty of advocacy groups out there you could paticipate in. I have a link to one in my sigline that's already gotten some of the laws that forced a change in the Lit Forums overturned.

I forward any and all messages pertaining to his sort of thing to the site owners as a matter of course.

And, of course, if everyone would please vote for politicians who don't advocate a war on porn, it would help immensely.

I also suggested a way that the Lit owners could protect themselves, legally, from civil and governmental litigation.

Both are good ideas, and should be considered, not simply dismissed as complaining.

The best way to protect themselves, legally, would be to turn Lit into a paysite, that way age verification is more easily verified (although still not foolproof). I believe they are trying to avoid doing such, and until the laws finally settle down to their liking, they have the right to run their site as they see fit. it probably does seem dismissive, but whether we like the rules they've given us is irrelevant.

Also, I am just curious: How many citations from the 'porn police' have been issued to Lit? I ask because, right now, there are dozens of images on the Am Pic thread that violate the rules, and the law.

One citation is too many. The big flaw in this system is that it still relies on people to report offensive materials. I work full time, and do not get paid to be here. As a result, it's physically impossible for me to check every picture put on here. I have to rely on your assistance. Now, you can imagine how many people are rushing to report a picture of a woman using a dildo on herself on here.

This seems quite sarcastic, and dismissive, to me. Perhaps I should suggest that, if Paendragon can't handle the criticism of his actions, no matter how well intended or supported by the rules, that he should step down as mod. You have no idea, none, how many people I get complaining about actions I've taken on this forum. Many have been personal. The statement you quoted, I apologized for. I was having a bad day, and it was about that time I received a PM that compared me unfavorably to a Nazi (more accurately, a member of the SS). No one keeps their temper in check all the time. In my anger, I misread the tone of the message. When he clarified. I apologized, and meant it.

It was wrong, I agree.

If you'd like to put something together, go for it. I'll talk to them, and sticky it if it gets their approval.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply, Paen!

I'll see what I can put together.

Peace.

Want to contact me and talk about this? susan0410t@hotmail.com or else aussie_teacher@hotmail.com. Maybe now someone will talk to us and help us get out of here after all our things are deleted!!!

Stories have to go to the siteowners. I can't delete them. I can, however delete any pic threads you wish, although I'm curious as to how you were stopped from removing your own pictures.

Have sent you a private message with names of threads and a few details etc and hope in fact you can delete them.

I/we don't know how or why we were stopped from deleting or edit our own things but happened in the early days of us being here and thought maybe was just a small glitch in the system and did not worry too much at the time, but ......

I am Chinese and live in China. From time to time the Chinese government finds sites like this and they deem it not fit and proper for Chinese to see and they somehow block it from all of China. We had many 'hard-core' pics of me/us on a site that was blocked recently and after an e-mail to the owners they were kind enough to delete all (yes, we had a friend in another country check). We are still waiting on word from an adult blog site to do the same and as such want all of these pics/threads deleted here before they (my government) decide to block here as well.

As for the stories, yes we understand that you can not delete them, but no one will answer our requests so this si disturbing for us as there does not seem to be a way of deleteing your own stories and we wish them gone.
