The Knowledge (underscored cos it isn't a link...)

I think is overrated..just a differentiation marker to who can and who can't drive a cab.

(edit) Although I must admit it would guarantee good service.

Here, many cab drivers I've had have had to ask pedestrians how to get to an address. Or it helps, as a passenger, to be able to explain your own way.

Out here in the sticks, it can be almost as bad.
Frankly, I wish that there was a "Knowlege" of an area for ALL taxi drivers.
