There was some talk about starting a thread about voices, accents, etc. There were a couple of people interested in it, but so far nobody's started the thread, so I decided to be brave and go first.

Vocaroo.com is a website where you can easily record your little "voice mail" for us to hear, and you can also delete it afterwards by using the delete url you get when you save your recording.

So here goes:

Seela in English
Seela not-in-English (because someone asked for this)

I'm sorry about the quality. I'm using my computer's built-in mic, which isn't the greatest, but I hope you can hear what I'm saying. :)

Edit: Here's an index of the voices heard on this thread

Thank you for starting this thread and thank you for sharing your voice with us. It's beautiful. :)

What a great idea. I'll do it, too as soon as I get the house to myself without interruption.

Seela, you have a pretty voice. (^_^) I don't know if I'll record something, yet. We'll see?

I love these threads.

Seela, you sound so sweet.

Methinks all of the people who are not shy will have to do it first, thus encouraging the shy ones to be brave and do it! :)

OMG, ALL OF Y'ALL SOUND SO CUUUUUUTE!!!!!

Here's mine. My apologies for rambling and being a giggling idiot.

Thank you for this thread, Seela!:rose::kiss:

Thanks for the lovely comments. Don't be shy to join and let us hear your voice, too. It's not scary, and you can delete your recording whenever you wish. :)

Ok, will do.
Freaks me out every time I hear my voice from the outside, but here we go:

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1b1Qa1Y9npQ

That's what I sound like in English and two other languages.

Thank you for participating! Och jag förstod allt! I was expecting you to have an even more southern accent in Swedish, one of those almost indescipherables (to me). I don't know why. :D

Awesome! To me your accent sounds very General American, but I don't think I've ever been able to tell apart Canadian from that, unless they say the "a boat" thing or use eh a lot. :)

You sound so happy! And the same goes for you as to Iris, I can certainly tell that you're from the South, but I expected to hear something even more Southern. But it's probably all that living in the city vs. living in the countryside. Meaning you'd only hear the really thick accents from people who live in the countryside.

And it's cool that you giggled in yours, makes me feel less dorky about the y'all silliness in my recording. I kind of want to make another one without all that, though. :)

Such a pretty, graceful voice-- in all 3 languages!
Thank you so much!

You have a really nice voice and accent. I thought about reading something and decided against it too, because I think it does change the way you sound from normal speaking.

It's funny how hearing your voice makes me feel all: Nice to meet you at last.
I agree with Seela, you sound very happy and friendly and It's great to get to hear some different dialects, accents and languages.

Thank you for participating! Och jag förstod allt! I was expecting you to have an even more southern accent in Swedish, one of those almost indescipherables (to me). I don't know why. :D
Yeah, it's not that bad, I think. Not the kind of dialect they would have to subtitle on national TV at least.
I didn't understand one word of your non-english sadly, so I'm guessing you didn't tell us not to cover the space heater. :D

I have to add a HUGE thank you to Seela for starting this thread and for those of you who have participated so far. I have been on Lit for about 7 years now without being able to meet anyone in person. Listening to the voices of people who I have shared some of my innermost struggles with submission has somehow made me feel lighter and much happier.

Not bad at all, because I undestood it! Or maybe I've just listened to Paul Svensson and Tina Nordström so much that I've secretly become fluent in Southern.

And I actually thought about adding the "do not cover" bit, just for giggles and because I thought that at least you might be able to understand it. But in reality a lot of people don't recognize when it's spoken. :D

Here's hoping no one recognises my voice otherwise oh damn lol.

You have a really nice voice! And like already said, your accent is not as British as I would have expected. I guess my idea of British accents is a little bit biased, though. Either it's BBC English or something really weird that I can hardly understand, and yours doesn't fall into either category. Definitely interesting! :)

This thread is so much fun. As Iris said to BiBunny makes me feel all "Nice to meet you at last"

Yes! Exactly, it feels like meeting for the first time, but like meeting friends instead of strangers. I liked how you talked about your dialect, too. it was very interesting to me. And I really liked your voice - raspy and sensual. :)

And I'm really glad I started this thread, too. I'd like to thank everyone who has shared their voice so far!

Wee! This is SO MUCH FUN! I'm with you guys. It's such a treat to get to place voices with screen names. Everyone sounds so good!

What a great thread :)

There seems to be background noise on my recording, not sure why as no noise here.

You sound really sweet! Such a lovely, soft voice. You say you're Scottish with an English accent. Howcome's that? :) All Scottish accents I've heard have been quite strong, so I'd assume it'd still come through even if you lived for years elsewhere. Interesting!

Here's my little addition to this thread. As I'm from central canada, I've recorded this is both english and french: "My name's Moonbeam and I wish you have a good day or a good night."

Edit:

Adding this recording as I felt that the first one was just a little short.

Yay, our first man! You sound so much like my ex that it isn't even funny anymore. :D You have a really nice voice, one that I can very easily imagine giving orders. I can already hear the thumping sounds of hordes of women falling for it, so don't be surprised if you find your PM box full after this. :p
