Yeah, I think mine missed the mark. It was fun to write, and I stand by it, but it's not a typical Romance story (whatever that means) and I'm not sure I picked the right category.

I believe the deadline is July 7, but you'll probably want to get it in a few days earlier.

There's different points of view. Some people believe getting it in at the last moment minimises the troll bombs, others believe longer evens out any attacks.

I'd tossed a 750-word one in early. It's not 'panting' and 'stroking,' just 'nervous jitters' and innuendo until the end. Fifty-two voted it a 3.9-star rating the last I looked.

It's called 'Get with the Times, Honey.'

I thought the story might have gotten more flack for NOT going *there* especially since I'd assumed a lot of readers would fully expect *that* given the title lol.

And it almost DID go *there.* Several times. I actively had to fight to keep it from going *there* lol.

I doubt anyone at all would have had a problem if you went there, Djmac. Kudos to you on keeping the innocence mostly intact, it was a fun read.

Oh for sure. And my story would probably be doing a lot better rating wise than this version.

Although I can't complain. A 4.35 is respectable.

I actually loved the restraint. From what I've seen of the ratings on the published stories for Nude Day, the bombers are out in full force, so that 4.35 is great!

In terms of your story, I think taking such action with the escort would increase rather than decrease the chances of Dad losing control around Daughter later. And with her ending up being a lesbian, that could have turned out even worse than he'd already feared.
But hey, that's why I like this site. A chance to talk with other writers as well as enjoy their work.

Now that the story is actually out, it's easier to talk about this. SPOILERS apply.

I originally was going to write it as an incest story. All the elements were there, in place.

But as it went on I had the idea: what if it WASN'T an incest story?

What if it were, instead, a story about nudism?

How does one NOT brought up in a nudist lifestyle learn to accept someone who's embraced it?

Especially if that person is attractive. And a family member.

I agree that most fathers who read / write / enjoy incest stories would never go there with their own daughter.

And therein lay the struggle for my fictional father.

He didn't WANT to think about his daughter sexually. And yet couldn't help it due to her insistance on nudity.

Whether he made the right choice in role-playing with the escort is of course up for debate.

But it's how he chose to deal with the situation.

The story definitely isn't meant to be some serious STATEMENT about incest fantasies, pro or con.

I've written a full fledged father / daughter incest story already, so it's not like I'm against the genre.

Just decided to do something different this time.

Okay, Happy Homecomings made it through the queue in under 2 days. Pretty amazing, considering its length.

I've finished the first draft of my story, about 10K long. A few editing passes, and then I'll let the beta readers take a swing at it. Might not be submitted on the first day, but it'll make it in.

Hack, first off, great story, got my 5* and another 5* from Mrs. Island.

But, DUDE, the opening of your story freaked me out because I literally just had that same scenario come to me for a story idea earlier today.
I was going through news feeds at work (on a coffee break, of course) and saw three clickbait stories right after each other that talked about growing apart the way you described.
I immediately started thinking of how that could play out in a story and I sent myself the following e-mail so I could think about it after work and decide if I wanted to write it next.
Then I came home and got to reading contest entries and bingo, there you are with Beloved Scars. Eerie, man, really eerie.
Well, like I said, you did a really good job with your story, but I may still go ahead and write mine since my couple may have deeper issues to work through.
