I was reading some other threads, and it seems as though there is bad air associated with 'posting excessively'...

Would somebody like to explain this one to me, because I'm not quite sure what the argument is.

Well, let's just use an example. There is someone here that has been on the BBS less than a month, and already has over 600 posts. He posted to nearly every thread at least 5 times. That, I think, by anyone's definition, would be excessive.

Some people like to post there views fellings on everything, and sometimes when another peroson post something else on the same topioc it arouses the mind to thinking and then you want to post more, but some people on this threas itself would like it if ppl were only allowed to have one post a month and that would make her happy. because people arent allowed to have thoughts and opinions according to her.

so post away and have fun and ignore the shit when it hits the fans

and if we wer to try and cover the diveristy of topics cvoered in this bbs in one night in a chat room discussion it would take years and never to accomplish what accoplish here

When I look down the list of threads and see one persons name listed more than 3 or 4 times as a thread starter or last poster, I think they're posting to much. I know when I see my name 3 times, I'll stop for a while. It's kinda a hint that maybe I'm coming on to strong.

It depends on the time of day to some extent. I post at night, and often there is nobody else posting, and I have a string of responses. Is that bad? 4-6 responses.

But, yes, generally if you post 5 times in 5 minutes, you have a problem.

When you post every minute with only a *sigh* or *giggle* as a posting, you are misusing this board and treating it like a chatroom.
There is already a chatroom, go there and post you silly one word responses all you want and as many as you can in under one minute.
This is a bulletin board to post and let OTHERS post back.

Actually, though, it's not the amount of posting that bothers me, it's the lack of thought and relevance in certain people's posts.

If someone can post some 600 or so INTELLIGENT posts that actually had to do with the original topic of the thread in less than two weeks, then shit, you must be a genius.

If on the other hand, though, your posts consist of nothing but "oooh look i found you again im gonna chase you till you talk to me can i kiss you *smile* *giggle* *laugh*" crap, then you are contributing nothing to the board. Most of you talk on IM thingies, so do that there! None of the rest of us want to see it.

I think that the way to use this BB is to post a thread or an answer to a thread that acctualy add's to the some of knowledge or give's you an answer to a question that you realy need to know, mind you that doesn't mean you can't have fun to.

Personaly I only post on subject's I find interesting.
