At 1:30 a.m. and again at 5:15 a.m. the need to empty my bladder awakened me. I keep a one liter capacity plastic bottle with a screw on cap on the floor next to my bed so I don't have to walk to the bathroom.

Thunder at half past 12. Amazing storm, and I stood out in the rain to cool off.

As usual, nothing. Closed my eyes last night and next thing I knows it’s today.

Dragged myself out of bed this morning nine minutes before the 6:00 alarm. I'm not sure why I didn't roll over and go back to sleep.

Busy day ahead. Maybe that's why. Half an hour later and I'm still groggy.
