For now I reparó el problema but left the causalidad for another day.

I did move the electrical wires out of the direct path of the drip from the leaking T&PRV. Bought a new one. Can't find a Stillson around the place I think I carted them all off to storage. I collect Stillson wrenches you think I would have one handy. Bought a new element. Waiting to see how well it heats up before I decide whether I want to bother changing that out or not. Apparently it's been awhile since I've bought a water heater I decided I wasn't going to plunk down $450 for the landlord's benefit.

The architect was certainly wishin'-n-hopin' when he designed the kitchen in the one bedroom ADA unit. In a term, shit don't fit.


We went and spent some Quality Time with it, and there ain't no simple answer. It's going to require moving the utility closet and all its contents.


Which have all already been upgraded.

Ahhhhhh. Hot water. Not tepid, hot. Straight from the showerhead. Glorious.

The little induction continuity tester I got fir $7 at Harbor Freight did a great job, so I will probably return the remote circuit tracer un-opened. I had to do trial and error to find the circuit breaker because there was no way I was going to plug that new device into that ugly plug. Looks like I can also return the heating element to the big blue box. I probably won't though because I never get around to returning anything. Somewhere I've got a money order stub for $220 for a money order that didn't get to where it was supposed to and I haven't gotten around to getting that refunded either.

Congrats on the hot water. I love it when a plan comes together. I know you must feel satisfied that you got it solved.


I seem to have a spare set of highway pegs which I never returned, either. I might have had I not tossed to fucking packaging.


Then again, the packaging becomes clutter, and we're tossing clutter.


Maybe I'll sell them on one of the apps in town, except I'm never there. Oh well . . . .

What I'm proudest of is I did not shock myself. This time.

I bought the thickest insulated rubber gloves I could find they were made from PVC and I just hoped that they would stop an electrical current. I couldn't find any that specifically said anything about not being zapped through them. I figured we coat wires a PVC so it's got to be good for coating fingers.

I'm embarrassed about how often I have shocked myself installing lighting fixtures and ceiling fans.

I've always killed power at the circuit breaker but somehow or another killing the power is not actually killing the power. My technique is your turn the light on you find a circuit breaker that turns the light off and you should be good to go. I don't know how I keep getting shocked.

The little one is finding my little continuity tester a delight. She's checked cords and outlets and the air conditioning unit and anything else that she thinks might have electricity including the TV and VCR. Remarkably it senses electricity pretty darn well. No luck with my key-fob.

I suppose you have to have some potentiality to detect and a battery isn't going to have that.

I just work on the shit. I usually do it hot. Like those 240v disconnects for the outside a/c units on the job a couple of summers ago. Just do it.


Tiny wire nuts saved my ass on that one.


I'm not that big a fan of 240.


I must be kind of hard to kill . . . .

Looks like Con got his prob. tracked down and fixed. Fortunately that was a simple fix.

I have a small prob to deal with, one that the sheet rock crew created when the decided to build up (build out) a wall. Hope it doesn't get ugly.

I got the trunk back on the bike. It's nice for travel and passengers, I reckon, but I prefer the look without it. So, it comes back off when we get back.


It's gonna be quiet from here out. I need some sleep.
