Interracial Category

I submitted a 750 worder recently to Interracial. It was about a threesome between a black girl, a white girl, and an Asian girl.

So interracial, right? Apparently not. Laurel moved it to Lesbian. And you know what, I think she’s right.

I think if I submitted a story featuring a white guy and a black girl to Interracial, it would probably be moved to Romance or Erotic Couplings.

Is it time we renamed Interracial to what it really is, BBC Central?

Emily
I love all those. Interracial, lesbian, interracial lesbian…. AND BBC. I can say first hand that interracial is amazing and theres something so hot about the contrast of skin colors. Write on Emily! Write on. No matter what the category. Im glad theres authors like you who can create those erotic couplings and we can read and enjoy them. Honestly my best masturbation sessions came from reading stories in penthouse forum and variations verses just looking at nude bodies.

The concept is not racist at all. Fetishizing someone's visible ethnicity is no different than fetishizing someone's tits or balls. However I do admit that an author who handles these elements poorly can at least come off as racist.

I don't think being attracted to specific looks is intrinsically racist; people have all sorts of preferences that sometimes just come down to "that's my type". But it's something that can come from racism, when the attraction is based on stereotypes about sex-crazed Black men or submissive geisha women or whatever. That happens often enough that it's worth thinking about those attractions and trying to unpack them, just in case they're tangled up with something unwholesome.

Being bi is weird, it’s like you don’t fit into anyone’s pigeonhole. But I think it seems to be more acceptable for women. So long as they are still girly with it.

Emily (kinda girly)
You are touching on a very sensitive subject for me.

It’s a lot more accepted even cool or hip to have a lesbian lover, the other way around…not so much!

Really too bad!

It's probably worth pointing out that if you look at PornHubs categories, 'interracial' does indeed universally mean black male on white (or possibly Asian) female - at least judging by the first couple of pages of results (there is one black-white lesbian video but that's it). 'Ebony' has some references to 'Big White Cock' but seems to be mostly black-on-black porn. Because I like numbers, here are the numbers of videos for each listed race/region/nationality. (From the Straight side only - not sure if overlapping categories stack e.g Japanese & Asian, or Brazillian & Latina)

Latina - 89k
Asian - 62k
Ebony - 45k
Interracial - 42k
Russian - 35k
Japanese - 34k
Arab - 19k
British - 19k
German - 19k
French - 17k
Italian - 17k
Brazillian- 16k
Indian - 16k
Czech - 12k
Euro - 6k
Korean - 5k

For reference, the biggest categories are Amateur with 409k videos and Teen with 264k.

The only hostile response I've had towards lesbian sex outside of the Lesbian category is in Loving Wives (which I anticipated) where the story 'Sister-In-Law Surveillance' which is narrated by a feminist lesbian who ends up sleeping with her brother's cheating wife, the wife being an extremely annoying mommy vlogger type. I've had lesbian sex scenes in Erotic Couplings, Fetish and Incest/Taboo, and never received any complaints. Okay, the hard to please IT crowd weren't overly impressed with my Sapphic stories, but mainly due to them not liking the characters, plot or my attempts to make them laugh, rather than the girl on girl scenes themselves.

A few years ago I replied to a thread about stories you wrote in popular categories that failed to rate in terms of views, and nominated my Lesbian Sex story 'Marcie & Ramona's Sapphic Saturday', a simple little story set in 1961 about two 18-year-old girls who are secret lovers. Of course, the story might have been released a long way down the list on a busy day for lots of new stories in the category and overlooked thus the low views, but in the description I mentioned that Marcie is Jewish and Ramona Latina, and pondered if that could have been part of the reason readers seemed to avoid it. Some fellow writers seemed to think that racism and anti-Semitism might have come in to play, others seemed to think that readers may have avoided it thinking I was mocking or fetishizing the two girls for their race/religion. I don't know which is worse, people avoiding a story because of bigoted views or people perceiving that I am a racist, anti-Semitic bigot for writing the story.

And on a lighter note, we need the IR category. When brave writers post stories in Loving Wives with themes such as a racist WASP housewife in the late 50s/early 60s (like Hilly Holbrook from The Help) secretly having an affair with a Black man; a young Asian trophy wife having an affair with a handsome Latino lover; or an Indian wife having a lesbian fling with a pretty younger woman of Pacific Islander descent, then where are the angry readers going to say these stories should have been posted if there is no IR category?

After reading through all the posts here, I have a few thoughts.

The main one is that this is another reason why I really believe there should be the option to select more than one category to post a story in at the same time. For instance, Emily's story could be posted in both IR and Lesbian. It seems like that'd be a better system, but alas I doubt much is going to change.

Also, I like the black man/white woman "kink" but consider myself very progressive so for me the racism aspect doesn't really have much sway for me. Not to say it's not still a part of it all, because it absolutely is. Even though I enjoy it, I don't like when race is hammed up in the stories, like with what people have mentioned about the poor, demure white wife and the colossus black bull with his superhuman dong. It's unrealistic, contrived and does play into those negative racial stereotypes.
It's something that I've thought about a lot in my own writing, as my longstanding WIP is a cheating wife story involving a black man and a white woman. I wrote it because that's what I find hot, but I was and still am trying to be conscious that I'm writing people first. Their ethnicities certainly play a part in the attraction, but they wouldn't sleep with each other based purely on that.

Circling back to category issues, though, I did have to at times edit because I was subconsciously playing into the race aspect a bit too much for what I wanted because I didn't want it being bumped into Loving Wives and all that that would bring.

The whole "bbc" thing is tired and old by now. But that's what is propped up in the porn world. Black male/white female, black male/Hispanic female etc.

This is the type of IR we need more of…

Someone could do a work on what categories trump which. Does a lesbian orgy belong in Group Sex or Lesbian? If a white guy is seduced by his black step-mother, is that I/T or interracial?

It's not, but being specifically turned on by it is.

I'm asian. Me sleeping with a white gal isn't taboo, but someone fetishising my skin color is.
I can't speak to other countries and cultures other than America specifically. I have some notions about other western nations but not enough to feel comfortable asserting any truth.

Man, there is no other way to express this better.

People like to think that porn and erotica are just fantasty and imagination only, and yet it's obvious that porn tropes and erotica bleed into average life all the fucking time.

If I could turn Intellectual dishonesty into a commodity (especially on here), I would retire in 4 years.

I can't help but find the irony of of people virtue signaling over their dislike of interracial porn, posting in a thread about interracial porn.

I'm sure there are plenty of people that get turned on reading or watching this content and have their own reasons for the attraction, but reading things like racism is bad! and it's not right to fetishize the color of someone's skin doesn't mean that there aren't going to be people that enjoy the category for those very reasons.

And you all know it.

What about the women who only like tall guys? Doesn't that fetishize tall men?

How about guys that that only want to fuck women with big tits? Again, this seems to fetishize women with large breasts.

What about the married couples that open their relationship and have sex with whoever? I won't even touch this one.

I could go on and on about how there's plenty of 'fetishizing' going on here.

There are obviously plenty of people that enjoy the 'BBC and white woman' theme, and it's probably majorly influenced by most of the things people have happily described as disgusting in this thread, but for all of the disdain, that category here has a lot of stories.

Personally, I enjoy IR stories that steer clear of the 'wimpy white husband', 'his dick was too small, even though it was the same size before I married him, but now I just have to fuck a Black guy with a big dick', or anything where things aren't consensual for all parties involved.

Anyway...

Okay Emily, now it's time you write an I/T story and post a thread here about it so we can all get a lesson from the responders on how disgusting that is too. At the end of the day, we're all entitled to our opinions (there was even a time we could voice differing opinions, and have discussions, but those days are gone and it's just about being politically correct/subservient these days.) and as far as I'm concerned, the IR stuff is no more 'taboo' than a number of other categories here.

"Interracial" isn't a category for mixed race romance or sex. It's a category for racist exploitation stories...

It's one of those "I really wish this wasn't a kink" kinds of categories. But it's basically about flipping history from reality.

Reality: the reason African Americans have 25% Caucasian DNA is that for the last 500 years it's been "open season" for Anglo men to rape black women. Thus that 25% comes almost exclusively through the paternal line - traced to Anglo men.

The fiction: Black men overpowering white women. The reason 1% of Caucasian Americans have African DNA is because that DNA comes through the maternal line - black women who's child of rape by a slave owner could pass. Pretty much the safest place in all creation a young pretty white woman can be is in the middle of a pack of extremely horny strong black men. Every one of those men knows if he gets within sight of that women, he's going to end up being fruit on a tree...

But there we have it - the category that revolves around the 'race panic' this is so often used to justify turning black men into strange fruit.

That genre exists to keep us stuck in this painful story that should have moved into the past long ago - but keeps refusing to.

The fiction: Mandingo porn
The reality: Emmitt Till

My fiction very often involves people across ethnic lines, or people who are mixed (as I am myself). But I would never put nor tag anything I wrote into that genre - even if it did involve a black man and a white woman.

Couldn’t agree more - inconvenient as the truth is for people who get off on racist crap.

And this is not kink shaming, it’s racist shaming.

One dumb scene has held me up for a year from my final chapter of my "Alien Girlfriend" series. I only mention that here because two very minor characters from my prior chapters become major seconds in the last chapter and I just remembered - it's a Black Mexican man and an Anglo-White Canadian woman. While I wrote each of their bits describing them in glowing terms and their pride in who they are and their own stories and such, it never occurred to me to 'fetishize' their being different ethnicities. I DID fetishize that the woman uses her best friend being an 'Alien Girl' as an excuse to run around naked because the story kind is exhib.

I need to finish that one.

I'm very fond of stories with characters from multiple cultural background who take joy in and through the story show aspects of their culture - with the "hook" or kink being something else, and the culture aspects being there to breath life into the characters.

@Medinamaybes_swing recently published a Lovng Wives tale, where a hot wife picks up a black guy in a bar and takes him back to her room. She was accused of being racist, which it wasn't. The color contrast was addressed, but the point of the story was not the black guy, it was taking home the experience to hubby

I'm a broken record on this subject, but then, so are the people who keep saying things I disagree with, so I'll keep saying what I think to keep things balanced.

What you fantasize about doesn't make you racist, or a bad person. And it doesn't matter what you fantasize about. Fantasies are fantasies.

Perfectly good people have nutty, transgressive, inappropriate, immoral, hard-to-justify, completely unrealistic, ahistorical fantasies. And they want to read or write stories based on those fantasies.

And that's perfectly fine by me.

And so what if it was focused on his skin. I said this waaay back in the thread and said it at least one other thread: being attracted to someone's skin color is no different than being attracted to someone's hair color or eye color, or a tall man or an hour glass woman. It's just a physical trait. It's not racist at all.

I used to work with a (white) woman who specifically was attracted to black men. She especially liked when they had a bit of a flesh roll on the back of their necks. It's not racist. It's just something that turns her on. Likewise this (English descent) guy in our circle of friends once told us what he liked in a woman, he didn't like blondes. He liked dark haired slender Mediterranean girls, like Greek, Balkan, Italian etc. It's not racist at all. It's just what turns him on.

Call it a fetish even. No one shames a big tit fetish. No one shames a size queen. No one shames an ass man. These are fetishized body parts. We rarely even see backlash against men who love their Asian girls. So an Asian girl is a fetish, a black man is a fetish. It's not racist. It's just what turns people on.

He has a French accent, she's turned on. She has a Mississippi accent, he's turned off. Who cares? It's not racist at all.

I’d defend anyone’s right to a fantasy. So long as it doesn’t dehumanize others.

There are guardrails.
