Wax Play...have you tried it?

Wax play has been something that I've wanted to try since someone first sent me a picture of it about six years ago - before my journey through Lit.

Since then, I've done some reading, some talking, and some learning through my local BDSM group. I wanted so much to be the one he used to SHOW us how to be safe, what it could do, how to use candles. And how to clean it off. Since then, I still haven't stopped wanting to try it...and, with Covid, may end up trying it on myself!

Tell me...have you tried it? What did you like or dislike about it?

It can work well if you edge then wax alternating the pain and pleasure

I spent my teenage years working at a place where they sold home decor such as candle sconces. Theyd ask if we had any and i was like “what the hell is a sconce!???” Someone finally described what it was proving you learn something new everyday:). Now i can start calling people that when they run me off the road or act like a total jerk. Ill be saying stuff like “you stupid sconce!” but really mean asshole 😁😂😂😂

Still no. I’m not sure why I haven’t ordered a candle yet with how much I love wax during my Brazilian. I’m pretty sure I can convince my vanilla husband to drip wax down there for me.

Normal white candles are fine. Just adjust the hight you drip from accordingly and stay away from bee’s wax.
Most colored candles are fine too, but some can be tricky, especially if the color looks metallic.
If you use tea lights, be careful to not splash the little metal disc that holds the wick on skin - it’s really hot.

Cleanup isn’t fun, so an old sheet that collects the wax when it comes off, is a good idea.

Thank you! I wouldn’t have thought about cleanup

If he won't, I'd love to assist you. (I'll bring the candle) ;)

Try to find soy candles. They melt at a lower temperature so they aren’t quite as hot as parafin wax candles.

It's good to have that or a cheap shower curtain in case it splatters.

Some people use a comb to clean it off. Someone used a knife during an instructive class.

I wonder what else people use?!

I’ve only done wax play alone, so removal is probably less “sexy” because I’m doing it myself. That being said, I usually scrap what I can off with my fingers/nails and then whatever is left is washed away in the shower (a loofa or washcloth is pretty great at getting the last of it off). Sometimes I will cool the wax with an ice cube to help remove more before the shower.

I’ve used a knife before, but it’s not as interesting as it sounds when you’re alone 🤣

Though soy candles are “cooler,” I’ve found the clean up to be almost impossible. They turn into a terrible lotiony-wax coating on my skin.

I tend to keep away from bee’s wax candles, but find paraffin to be fine… I am also highly masochistic, so am okay if an accidental superficial burn should occur (though it hasn’t yet) because marks. 😋
