I thnk i'm going to have to go back to some kind of work. Don't know if I can stand the pressure of newspaper editing anymore though. And I'm not trained for anything else.
 
When in doubt you can edit so many different types of things...every type of writer needs an editor...

I feel your pain. :rose: I had a good career and a jerk took me out of it. Hard to get back into such work when you've been dumped once. Like I said though, don't really think I want to. But that doesn't stop the student loan bills and the rent and the... bills from popping up every month.

I know that one - got out of my last job a very thin squeak ahead of a nervous breakdown.

I think I was actually in the midst of one and didn't realize it. Having anxiety attacks etc. Amazing what a few months can do to your level of anxiety. Things have changed so much for me. That's part of why I don't want to go back. My sister says that I had a bad experience and I should try again, but the system just breeds that kind of administration and gossipy clique atmosphere, I'm afraid.

Sounds very familiar. The office politics on top of the standard stress of the job was more than I needed, for sure. So I now have a degree and 15 years experience in the industry wasting away... Maybe if I could work part time it'd be all right.

Part-time would be great, but I'm not sure it would pay the bills.

Well, at this point I've written another one and edited another, submitted those two. Now I'm trying to finish that one. I'd written everything but the major sex scene. Trying to decide where to take it.

Ah, I see. Man, you are doing a lot more than I am. I'm still in the brainstorming stages of a short story for the Valentine's Day contest. I didn't submit one for the Winter Contest, although if I had time I would have liked to, as I had an idea. But thats ok, cos the winter theme can still be applied to February.

I started to think about Valentine's Day and then thought... I'm not ready for that. Heck, I just submitted my second one for the Holidays contest. There's plenty of time. :rose:
