Do Republicans appreciate what losing Roe V Wade will do to them?

Mike Pence Calls for National Abortion Ban

The former vice president and other prominent Republicans are not only praising the end of Roe v. Wade but signaling bigger plans to strip women of their rights

He can call all he wants but it's not going to happen. I think he's just trying to drum up support for a soon-to-be-failed Presidential run. He's maybe half as popular as he seems to think he is.

Why do you think women have to get abortions?
Women have abortions because they do not want to raise the child they are carrying. Many realize that they are not in a position to raise that child properly.

I am in favor of free abortion on demand at any stage of pregnancy. I am opposed to Roe vs Wade because it is a flimsy piece of legal reasoning that has helped the Republican Party.

I don't know if you've noticed this, but the Democrats are led by a lot of really, really old people.
You can start with Biden, Pelosi, Schumer...,

Have you talked to anyone under 30 lately?

I find that millens and genz’s are far more strident than older gens

Don’t you?
Of course I have. The under 10s are even more strident. They are politicised and fed up with the existing party structures and old mantras.

We've locked them up, for the most par,t from birth. I used to head out when the sun rose and come home just after the lamp lit up. Never checked in and nobody cared

Since then, it was decided that kids needed to be wrapped in bubbles and tracked via GPS all hours of the day because bad people want to steal them

Fear (and trauma) has a way of hardening souls.

The youth are the youth and always behave so. It wasn't old people making all the noise during Vietnam. I see no appreciable generational differences in people, but I do in the news 24-7 cycle (and death of newspapers). Maybe you're just getting old and they won't stay off your lawn, but it wasn't too long ago that you were being admonished to remove yourself from the property.

The USA is unique insofar as people can do almost anything there…. Including shooting people you disagree with or just dont like.

A strange brew.

Not legally and nothing stops Canadians from knifing each other. You have no point.
"mass murder by knife" == "mass murder by semi automatic weapon"?
Would you happen to have any Korean history in your bloodlines?
It would explain a lot.

No, and I never said that. I said that those who claim to be "pro life" and "pro choice" are equally hypocritical. I am neither pro life, nor am I pro choice. I am pro abortion and pro more gun control laws.
Just curious. are you an American citizen?

Yes, he is brilliant. If the left would only read the decision they would come away better informed about what just happened aside from the fact that much of Roe had already been overruled by Casey in 1992.
Agree. There is an amazing level of nonsensical hysteria coming from the left. The news cycle is about 48 hours old now so many of them have gotten the whining out of their systems. Saw the same behavior when the TX law passed. A few days of screeching and then they shut up.

aw, he's just a little daffodil with literary aspirations. don't be mean ;)

Nancy Pelosi: "Such a contradiction: Yesterday the States cannot make laws governing the right to bear arms. And today they're saying th reverse: thta the States can overturn a constitutional right -- for 50 years, of having the right to choose. Their hypochrisy is outraging. ."

Brilliant comment.Someone needs to start a thread on it. I can't, I've already started one.
What the clueless Nancy fails to realize is the difference between the two issues. There is a Second Amendment in the Constitution protecting the "right of the people to keep and bear arms and the "unqualified command," that it "shall not be infringed." There is no such thing in regard to "abortion" in the Constitution. The Constitution does not protect a right to abortion at the federal level. Please inform your clueless mentor so she doesn't keep making an ignorant ass out of herself and her believers by comparing apples to oranges.

Speaking of literary aspirations, i was looking at your 3 Word Poem thread the other day….I didn’t aspirate, but I did regurgitate a little!

Despite all the liars here claiming, "Hey. all we want to do is return the issue to the states," this is absolutely going to happen the next time the GOP has control of the presidency and both houses of Congress, and they will absolutely abolish the filibuster in order to make it happen.

Yes, but it does not matter. Non citizens have the right to express opinions about the United States, just as I have the right to have and express opinions about the rest of the world.
I understand your right to do so. That right was never in question in my query. I was just trying to determine if your opinion was international in origin or politically parochial to the US.
