My comments on these matters reflect my experience as a human rights investigator for the UN, U.S., the Catholic Church, the Dutch government and other such entities, especially in ex-Yugoslavia, Central Asia, and Ukraine.

Make no mistake: Putin dreams of committing all the same crimes in John Wayne Country.

Most important:

When the right-wing NYPost suggests that this was a Putin false flag op, we should pay attention.

The suspected killers are Tajiks. Tajikistan is Ismaili and Wahhabis have little following there.

The attempt by Putin to blame Ukraine is, first, obvious, second, childish, and third, familiar.

Ukraine has millions of partisans who served in the Russ army. Many are trained in diversion, i.e. sabotage and "maskirovka," or operations combining disinformation, deceit, and terrorism. They speak Russian. They can blend seamlessly into the Russian environment. Ukraine also has thousands of Crimean Tatar Muslims who hate Russian imperialism.

Millions of Russians have risen up against Putin and his conscription. (Very many Jewish people in America descend from honorable fugitives from tsarist conscription.)

We face a terrible challenge, which will confound serious, critical historians. I despise "counterfactuals," but:

We are taught to condemn Lenin. We are now seeing a repetition of 1904 (defeat of the Russ by Japan) and 1917 (collapse of resistance on the eastern front), and the ensuing social breakdown. But without the Social Revolutionary Party, the Constitutional Democrats, the Mensheviks, the Bolsheviks, the Russian anarchists, the Ukrainian nationalists, the Ukrainian anarchists, and the Old Believers.

1917 without Lenin? Without even Kerensky? Martov? Chernov? Kropotkin? Zasulich? Rosa?

In this context one must compare Putin unfavorably with Stalin. Because of his homosexual crush on Hitler, Stalin disarmed the mighty RKKA -- the invincible Workers' and Peasants' Red Army -- in the face of German imperialism.

Stalin destroyed this spirit:

Go ahead, laugh at the naive enthusiasm of those like my mother who believed. Sarcasm is free.

Everybody who ever heard of me knows of my passionate hatred of Stalinism.

Churchill said the RKKA of 3 million men and women could conquer continental Europe with ease.

DeGaulle plagiarized the immortal Red Hero, Marshal Tukhachevsky, whose ideas on strategy were a generation ahead of his time. Stalin had Tukhachevsky, an aficionado of the making of violins and close friend of Dmitry Shostakovich, executed.

I say that had the RKKA remained intact, Hitler would never have taken Ukraine, Belarus, or the rest of occupied Russia.

Hitler was the architect of the Holocaust. I say Stalin was the enabler of the Holocaust. Hitler and Stalin bore equal responsibility for the death of my relatives in an unknown ditch somewhere in Ukraine.

And yet: Leningrad. Stalingrad. Rostov. Kursk.

I do not forget:

But nor do I forget this:

Matt Damon at 2:14.

Russ political culture has been rooted in disinformation and deception for at least two centuries. These are the kind folks who came up with the Protocols and the Moscow Trial confessions.

ISIS has a history of claiming other people's atrocities as their own. It fits perfectly in Russ strategy, just as the Hamas massacre did.

Putin is worse than Stalin. Stalin aimed only at defense of the Soviet Union. Putin is out to avenge the Soviet collapse after its nose was bloodied in Afghanistan.

Putin intends destruction of Rome, Paris, London as Mariupol was devastated.

The great 19th c. Russian liberal Aleksandr Gertsen (Herzen) was a committed socialist. Yet he warned that Russian socialism would produce Chinggis Han with a telegraph.

Trotsky called Stalin Chinggis Han in a Packard limousine.

I call Putin Chinggis Han with the Internet. The West, and especially America, must lead the struggle against him.
