While surfing the web, I came across a site called www.Straightacting.com

Your online, politically incorrect source for the...straight-acting man !!!

Basically, it's a site made by a masculine gay man for other masculine gay men. The whole world seems to think of gay males as lisping, effeminate fashionistas who are obsessed with Barbra Streisand and befriend only heterosexual women. Not ALL gay men are like that ! Many gay men
are just as masculine in appearance, voice and behavior as straight males
are. Among them, there's the notorious tribe of the Bears.

What do you think ?

Double thread:merged.

Yeah, I agree. I fit the masculine, straight looking or straight acting type. But not intentionally or just to be different. It's who I am and have been most of my life.
Yes it's aggravating to see that society in general still sees us as only an effeminate stereotype. Now I'm not saying that in a demeaning or derogatory manner, but rather that we're as diverse as any other part of the population.

My bf is your typical butch-bear type, all fur, goatee and brawn. Although, sometimes I wonder if it's only on the outside. :D

Seems most of that "Straightactingmen" site is still under construction. Yeah, it's probably going to be lots of eye candy. Have to wait and see...

There are many shades of gay, and they all deserve representation. Many gay men, do, in fact, feel oppressed by the mincy queen stereotype.

The problem I have with the concept is the assumption that masculinity equates to straightness. Unfortunately, when I tried to read what they had to say on that issue, their server was down. I'll check again later.
