I think it's totally reasonable to observe that a personality type you are attracted to (at the risk of making a horrible sweeping generalization, a 'masculine personality') tends to be had by people with a certain type of appearance.

I think this is true in my own case - I am almost exclusively attracted to men with long hair, and I think long haired men are more likely to be liberal, creative, and playful, which is the kind of personality I am attracted to.
