Thank you, Serene.
It'll take me a bit to get back to my regular posting. Feeling rather....empty. I know it will pass as my routine resumes, but it sucks hardcore.

Evening topic: I've always been curious to know what percentage of Litsters present themselves as who they want to be rather than who they are. I realize that this is a topic similar to bad drivers in that very few admit to being the driver everyone else hates. But, do you think many, some or few post as who they want to be rather than who they are.
I say some, lit is a great way to explore or escape, both lens themselves well to being who you want to be not who you are.

Good morning! This morning's question has to do with friendships. Most of us have Lit friends born of many Lit related things. If Lit closed it's doors today, how many of you would honestly say you'd maintain a lit friendship a year from now. Or are our Lit friends, friends of convenience or as Aristotle called them, Friends of Utility, the lowest type of friendships.

I have six Lit friends who have my address, phone number, real name, etc. We keep in touch off Lit ( obviously)Good morning! This morning's question has to do with friendships. The reason I like it here Chainey is because your posters everyone are genuine - that comes across in bucketloads so ... please don't run out of questions![]()

I agree.
Chained, I thank you for the amount of time you put in thinking about your questions.

I am happy that one of my Lit friends is now a friend in real life; we keep in contact outside of Lit via e-mail and texting. I'd like to have that with another friend, but I don't think he's open to a friendship outside of Lit.
Another good question would be what does it take for a Lit friend to become a real life friend?
I've been asked to answer more of my own questions, so I shall. To be honest, I didn't really expect anyone to post that no, I'm not close enough to anyone to maintain a relationship outside of lit. Those that are in that realm either don't know it or don't care to admit it. There's a simple test to give yourself an indication, go dark for a few days, and see if by day 3 or day 5 you have anyone sending you a checking in message. Now if you give any advance warning of your absence the experiment is flawed.
For me, I have a good friend I've met here and I know that we'd stay in touch. I have a few others that I would hope to stay in touch with and then there are those that would fade away, some undoubtedly quickly
