Sure - people make friends and have 'in-jokes' but that's not necessarily a bad thing, so long as newbies aren't excluded. On numerous occasions I've seen a solitary post in a thread get ignored: sometimes because their remark was just weird or because there's a fast moving convo. I feel kinda guilty if I see it happen and I expect we've all been in that situation.

On the GB a newbie is usually told to Fuck Off and I've PM'd newbies who've wandered into it by accident, to let them know we're not all like that. Most places though you get accepted pretty quick, but it does require people to be able to string a sentence together and be a bit persistent.
Oh, I've seen that too. It happens all the time, and it doesn't really bother me. That's just what happens when a bunch of folks are posting at once. Casualties. :p

This convo is leading in circles, though. Making friends and in-jokes are alright. Willfully excluding people for no other reason than because they're not someone you're familiar with isn't.

Rant over. Yes, you lot can breathe a collective sigh of relief Now that I've stopped littering the thread with my vitriol. :D

*chuckle* Point.

That's just how my mind works. I mentally dissect things, out of habit.

Not me . . .shit goes right over my head, I'm an oblivious happy idiot.

I've seen newbies fit in right away and others who ease their selves in. If you come on too strong right away it's easy to piss off some folks.

I think it's hard sometimes as well when you see several posts that you might want to respond to. Do you multi-quote and answer all in one huge post or create multiple posts for each. By the time you do either the topic has changed half the time so you just move on with the topic.

Guess which one was me?

I came on a little too strong in the beginning and pissed some people off. So I had to back down a bit and let others get to know me and my style of humor. Now I just do what I do....blah, blah, blah.....:D

Yeah I think you really got that Gummy girl pissed at you

yeah, your blah, blah, blah is usually good enough.

:)

btw, i actually have little idea how i am perceived around here. it would be a lie to say i didn't care and an overstatement to say i spent much time worrying about it. i try to be easy going and just enjoy the ride. i mean, Lit is for fun, right?

You aren't alone in that. I have a couple good friends but for the most part I have no idea what the PG thinks of me. Before this thread I think I was mostly viewed as a random poster but nothing more.

i understand that. i used to write a lot of poetry on the Urban Hang Suite thread, but the thread host went MIA (damn you BMF), so i don't write there much any more. it's not as much fun or challenging without the interplay with other writers that i trust. but, you are correct that the Lit experience is different when one is engaged in a thread versus randomly posting.

I think you're pretty cool. So....that's all that matters. HA

Surely I can't be the only one with the thought that you're over thinking it all. Aren't there others that can post whatever and then be on their way and leave Lit behind when signing off?

When I first started here, I was naive. I didn't know what to expect. I tried to play some game threads, and I mucked those up....some I still won't go in b/c it's too much thinking for me. ha. (Yes, I realized how ditzy that makes me sound.)

I think at first I fit my screen name. As time has gone by, I've grown or found my balls, so to speak. I am not as sweet and nice as my screen name would imply. That could be that I have just grown tired of the typical "you're so hot", "I want to fuck you!" bullshit that comes out of a lot of guys' mouths. After awhile, I really want to just say, "yeah, yeah, yeah. whatever.'

I think after awhile you come to a point where you realize you can keep being the person you were when you started here, or you can change. And it's okay if you change. Just like in real life, you change.

I reached the point where I didn't want to be the "Fall back girl" for guys who had either left Lit and come back or would seek me out if I was available when they didn't have a current piece of eye candy. (Inevitably, once someone shinier, hotter, sexier, whatever came along off they went..until the next time.)

I know that I am not on Lit like I used to be...not near what I used to be. It doesn't mean that I don't still stop in and see what is going on, but in a way, I've outgrown my need for Lit.

I think that I have completely lost the focus of the question that I was responding about. haha. Oh well.

hey there!

It's still cold. It's still snowy. And we have another snow day. We will be going to school until the 4th of July at this rate.
Yeah, my sister was telling me another round was coming through. That sucks! I don't miss it.

This probably isn't the best thread to be chatting with ya, but I see you turned your PMs off. :(

That male/female numbers thread makes me go, "huh?" just like Stickygirl's Av with question mark.

Your absence has been noticed.
