This is mainly out of boredom as the board is really slow tonight. Has anyone here had their elbows tattooed. My next session is next Saturday and I am going to be getting my right elbow done.

My tattoo dude has told me to bring someone to hold my arm so of course I am packing my panties in terror...

I'm not usually this nervous but maybe I'm going soft in my old age...

Anyone want to share experiences?

My soon to be ex has both his elbows done.. and because of the close proximity to nerves it causes and involuntary shaking. ergo the need for someone to hold your arm. I would say from his words that it hurts but no more then anything else.

Know anyone with muscle relaxers? Seriously, my friend had a tattoo on the ankle over the ankle bone! She took a small dose of relaxers and deadened to some extent, the nerves. The work went well without undue problems. Are the elbows important for your artwork? Care to let us in on it yet? :D

LOL... thanks for the replies folks...

I am going for full sleeves but I am doing it in a strange way. I'm getting individual images tattooed on as I or my tattoo dude find them. The elbows are going to be done with identical dreamcatchers about the size of tennis balls with feathers coming off them. Inside the dreamcatcher will be a buffalo standing on a butte looking over a river.

After this is finished I figure about 15 more hours and my right arm will be finished. I am looking at a portrait of Geronimo as the main work for the inside of my right elbow then it is all fill in work with the exception of the wolfs head on my shoulder to cap the arm...

Muscle relaxants sound good but unfortunately I am totally drug free... I don't even take aspirin unless I am dying...LOL At this stage I am taking the wookie with me to hold my arm... It is good to think that he has some use...:D

hey kiwi. i don't think i'd worry too much about the pain. pinch the skin on your elbow as hard as you can and it doesn't hurt. not many nerve endings there i'm thinking. kitte's answer sounds more in line.

if there's anyway to get a copy of the dream catcher with the buffalo i'd owe you a big one. i'm trying to design a cd cover for a native american flute cd i'm working on and the title is "never all alone" and that sounds like it might work. if it can't be done, no problem.

i'm assuming that your competition hasn't happened yet.

No need to worry about the pain Wolfie......I have the cure already sorted......Just a small tap between the eyes with a four by two and you won't feel a thing !!!!

Hows that for usefull :p

Wookie, see if you can keep him in line. I told him what he should wear for fortification but you know how he gets.

The 2x4 sounds like a fine idea though.

That is what I am having but it will take only 6 months for me... I'm getting work done every 2 weeks.

unclej... it's not the elbow itself thats going to hurt it is the work on the channels either side of the bone... they contain nerve endings and tendons causing muscle spasms and a shitload of pain... I'll try to get you a pic of the design... shouldn't be too hard...

Wookie... Dawn... LMAO thanks you two... you'll keep. My revenge will be swift and deadly...:D

Honestly Kiwi love, if you want me to believe something that menacing you should get the squirrel off your head when you say it, it really spoils the effect.

Yep I have to agree with Dawn on this.......A man with chicken feet slippers just has no power to intimidate.....

As for your revenge I guess my turn to squirm will not be all that far away *gulp*
