🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

The struggle continues. Hip pain has been getting worse. Really bothering my sleep.

Talked to the people at PT today. I might be overstretching to the point it’s making things worse.

I’m going to a different orthopedic group for a consult and maybe an MRI.

Fingers crossed.

Sorry, hope you get better soon.

Have you gotten a massage? It could be something besides your hip manifesting in hip pain. I had that issue with my back but it was my hamstring. I’ve tried to stay on top of massage therapy. It’s not that easy to stick with (timing, cost), but when I do, it’s worth it. Just throwing that out there!

2 weeks of vacation and I am totally out of shape ... this is gonna be a Pain in the Ass....
Take it slow coming back. I’ve pushed too hard over the years and have injured myself coming back. Tweaked my shoulder and had to take more time off because I wanted to get after it too hard too fast. Slow is better. Good luck and stay consistent.

One of the things we talked about at PT yesterday was the fact I could be overstretching.

As a former college athlete I tend to do things like I’m 20. Lol

On a scale of 1-10 I probably hit 12 in
Stretching. The suggested trying about a 2 or 3 level in stretching

Did that yesterday. Slept much better.

I’m still going to the orthopedic

🤞

Morning All ☀️

Very muggy and buggy walk this morning. Do not recommend. But I got it in ✅

How’s everybody doing today?

Lasik and cataract removal on Monday so I'm on light PT for the next two weeks. *pout*. I bought a new bicycle on Saturday and I'm dying to get it out. Eye doc says light riding is OK so I'm going to be going for it tomorrow.

I’m maybe a bit better with my hip pain. Maybe.

In relation to my cardiac rehab. My weight for years has been about 210 215

When I went to the ER on 5/3/2021for my heart issues I was 235. A lot of water weight.

When I got home after the stents 5/20 I was 210.

Crept up gradually to 218 nervous eating.

I’ve been under 205 about the last 2 weeks.

I have my sights set on 200. 🤞

Great workout today.
Took my sandbag to a stadium next to my work. Sun was out, shirt cam off, and my sweat poured. Lots of stairs, squats, pushups, core, presses, lunges. I feel good. Tired but energized, you know? Ready to finish my shift.
Working out and sweating outside is the best.

I just got back from the beach yesterday and the scale showed that I’d gained weight over the last few weeks. I don’t weigh myself often because I tend to obsess over it. So, time to get more serious about my fitness.

I started this morning by going for a longer, more “strenuous” walk. I use quotes because that’s al relative. But it was a step up from hat I was doing.

I also was more lax about IF so I’m going to be more disciplined about that again.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Saw an orthopedic Hip Specialist yesterday. The pain is in soft tissue so no cortisone shot.

He felt the pain was caused by inflation of the IT band. Since that is a tendon, it can tolerate cortisone. Shot an each side.

Slept much much better last night.

I should be able to resume exercise and PT in a couple of weeks, to work on the underlying problem of tight glutes and quads.

After a couple of cortisone shots, I’ll need PRP , which is a much longer term solution.

Fingers crossed the relief lasts.

It is all about enjoying life too! I gained a few pounds this summer but I had the best summer! I know what works for me (diet and exercise) so I will be back in shape soon. At the same time, I just want to keep a muscular lean shape (not looking to complete in anything) 😀

Sounds like a great beach trip!
