🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

A light walk today and some kettlebell exercises. Is it just me or does everyone exercise more when it's not summer? I stay so busy in the summer that it is hard to stay in my exercise routine.

I struggle a little bit at first just because my schedule is totally different. Until I figure out a routine, it is a challenge to develop the exercise habit during the summer.

Good morning All

Just got back from a walk in the beach. Got “a talkin-to” from a ranger who said I was on a part of the beach that was closed until 7. Grumble. I know that he’s doing his job and keeping people safe but it annoyed me. I wasn’t swimming or climbing on some of the rocks or anything. Just walking.

Also I haven’t had coffee yet so that adds to my grouchiness.

Have you ever run into something similar during a workout? Where you got reprimanded for being somewhere you shouldn’t be or doing something you shouldn’t do?

Does being reprimanded by a Mama deer count? :D
A few months ago, I was walking my dog on a local hiking trail and apparently we got a little too close to her while she was watching over her newborn. She spotted us before we saw her, and she leaped out of the woods angrily chittering at us. Since he's a Husky, my guy thought it was playtime so he was wagging his tail and pulling on the leash because he wanted to get closer. Meanwhile I was trying to back up and appear as non-threatening as possible so as not to antagonize her further. In no way did I want to see a fight break out! Deer may look cute, but they're strong, powerful, and can do some real damage with those hooves! Fortunately, I managed to get my dog to heel and we got away unscathed. She followed us for a little bit to make sure we were really going, then she went back into the woods.

Yes that counts! Wow that must have been a surprise! Your dog is beauuutiful. I’m glad you didn’t have a run in with mama deer.

I’ve been chased by geese before 😂

Been MIA for lots of reasons but been thinking of this thread in my upper body and core soreness from lots of paddleboarding at cabin. Going to be a short paddle with lots of yoga on it today!!!

Welcome back :) Sounds like you had fun! I’ve never paddleboarded. I want to try it.

This is so frustrating I’m an early bird and this has happened to me as well. I’m walking on a open beach.

I got yelled at for attaching a TRX to a thick tree branch in DC. I don’t know if I shouldn’t have been doing it, but there was nothing posted about not doing so!

Good Morning Sweaters!
Phewwwww it’s hot today. Not an enjoyable walk, but I got it in. It’s very muggy and it was barely 7 a.m. when I went. At least I didn’t get scolded by a park ranger this morning, so there’s that.

Have a great day :)

Just had a first visit with a new PT about a shoulder injury. I'm no masochist but this dude was impressive. Did something called dry needling, now I hurt in a completely different part of my shoulder LOL

I hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday. I got out there today for a pre-lunch run. It was humid and I performed alright. Glad I ran.

I feel soar from lifting yesterday so that’s a nice reminder that it was a good workout.

I ran on Tues, lifted yesterday, and I'm getting ready for a run this morning. And then this afternoon, after work, a haircut at a new place with a new person, so I'm nervous about that. But I keep thinking that if I can get these little things back on track, the rest of it will start to fall into place.

That’s excellent! Keep up the good luck and I hope everything with the new person go really well!

It was waaaem today! So sweaty on my run. One of those shower but then not know if you’re sweating still or just have wet hair days.

Hello Sweaters -

I didn’t realize that my threads would disappear when I left. I’m really sorry that all of our posts are gone. But never fear, hopefully we can revive what we had in the other threads in this one.

So, where are you on your fitness journey?

I am sort of taking stock of where I am now, and where I want to be so that I can make a clear goal. My vague goals are to: build strength, tone, and find something that I enjoy doing on a regular basis. I feel like I’m starting from square 1 after these last couple of crazy years. So it’s time to

Grab your workout partner, or if you don’t have one just hang out with us in here and we can do this together. Or maybe it’ll just be me in here talking to myself which would be ok too.

What are you going to do TODAY? Are you already in a routine that you like? Are you taking that first step? What’s your fitness status update?

Riding my bike today, humidity way up there, and 85 degrees..........

Does anyone calorie count? Or do intermittent fasting? Just curious how they worked out for you.

Good morning, and happy Saturday :)

Yesterday I went for my morning walk, and my daughter came with me. It was really nice to have that time with her. I usually exercise alone these days and I’ve gotten to like it. It’s time for me to just zone out and not have to focus on anyone else. I used to primarily exercise with groups— either a boot camp, or a class. I really liked that because it was motivating and kept me accountable. But lately, it’s been just me. So when my daughter joined me yesterday, it was such a nice change.

Do you exercise alone or with a group or with a partner? What is your preference?

I do IF. It really works for me. I am on a 16:8 schedule and I love it. I usually fast from 8 pm to noon. (Now, I’m at the beach on vacation soooo, haven’t stuck with it here but I do when I’m in my normal routine). I keep track of calories on the Lose It app. It’s really just for my own info, not really to adjust my habits right now.

It depends on what kind of exercise I’m doing, and where.

Lately, I’ve been using my treadmill to run due to some pretty ordinary weather. If I’m running outside, I always take my dog and it’s just the two of us. When I’m just walking, on a rest day for instance, I walk with a friend and our dogs, or alone. I think, of late, I have a preference for exercising alone.

I mostly workout alone. I prefer to lift alone but do enjoy the super rare occasions when my wife can run with me. Life with kids usually means we run separately. The trail we run has people on it not a ton but enough so you do see some people throughout which is nice.
