🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

We’ll I went for my jog. I’m walking back now to take a short break then lift. While I’m running I’m listening to the book “Tongue Tied”. It’s about better communication about sex. It’s funny running past people listening to this and they have no idea what’s being said in me ear as I wave and say hello.

As I’m passing this older lady we waved and said hello to each other while the narrator is discussing clarity around penetrative sex lol. I just chuckled to myself after I passed. If they only knew.

But hay maybe she was listening to 50 shades as we passed who knows 🤷‍♂️🤔😂

Good morning, and happy Saturday :)

Yesterday I went for my morning walk, and my daughter came with me. It was really nice to have that time with her. I usually exercise alone these days and I’ve gotten to like it. It’s time for me to just zone out and not have to focus on anyone else. I used to primarily exercise with groups— either a boot camp, or a class. I really liked that because it was motivating and kept me accountable. But lately, it’s been just me. So when my daughter joined me yesterday, it was such a nice change.

Do you exercise alone or with a group or with a partner? What is your preference?

I do IF. It really works for me. I am on a 16:8 schedule and I love it. I usually fast from 8 pm to noon. (Now, I’m at the beach on vacation soooo, haven’t stuck with it here but I do when I’m in my normal routine). I keep track of calories on the Lose It app. It’s really just for my own info, not really to adjust my habits right now.
In the gym it’s alone unless I’m working with a trainer, cardio is alone with my dog 😊

Does anyone calorie count? Or do intermittent fasting? Just curious how they worked out for you.
No. Fast track back to eating disorder town for me. To even get accurate macro counts, you have to be crazy obsessive.

IF works because it’s cutting calories. so no, I don’t do that either.

Biked to church and back once again.

How far is church?

When I’d bike to work, it was just short enough that I wouldn’t need to freshen up first. But any farther and I’d have to shower before work and there was no time for that.

How long of a bike ride can you take before you need to shower and freshen up?

It's not that far, maybe a mile and a half - and it was nice and cool this morning. If I take a longer ride and I have to go somewhere afterwards I'll get a shower, but usually the days I take long rides I don't, so I just wait until after dinner.

I love it, but it can be rough for sure.

I liked it. I should probably try it again. I liked how you change exercises- it kept it from getting boring. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a whole lot of guidance on the floor exercises and strength training. I felt kind of lost. I think if I’d had more support and got my form correct and felt more independent, I would have continued with OT.

It can be like that. It really depends on what coach you get. The more you go the more you know who actually helps and engages the way you need/like.

I started with a trainer but have graduated lol. I will do a routine for a few weeks and then mix it up again just so my muscles don’t get too used to it. I do pretty much do the same ab exercises though

I need to get back on track. The summer has killed my routine (traveling and family time). Hoping to get back on my workout schedule next week (I truly miss it and how I feel after).

Yeah I was talking with a friend this morning and we agreed that summer seems to be when we will have all this time to devote to exercise or things we’ve fallen behind on, but that time just slips away. It’s tough

I also find that if you have a trainer you have more motivation 😊

I am usually in my best shape during winter (guess there just isn't much else to do). I try to stay in shape in the summer but it is so tough. My beginning of the summer pictures always look better than the August ones. lol

I had a trainer at Lifetime who left OT to go to Lifetime and his small classes were really great (very much like OT), and I'd imagine if everyone had an OT coach like that guy, they'd love it! He really was a great instructor/trainer.
