Sean's video thread has got me all nostalgic.

I was on a YTS so probably got £27 a week for the first six months. I remember buying the Heart 1985 album and a lipstick from Boots!

Actually? I bought me Mam a big bunch of flowers and meself a quarter bottle of vodka

Probably a Bag.

Gasoline and smokes & alcohol.

Hey I was 17...

Probably something for my BMX bike or a skateboard. I had a paper route at 12. Then saved up for a dirt bike.

I got my first real job at 14. There was also a lot of babysitting.
I am guessing I bought clothes or cassettes.

At 17 I was working for a local farmer moving irrigation sprinkler pipe twice a day. I got paid $60.00 once a month for that. I bought my first car, a 1948 Oldsmobile for $50.00 out of that first paycheck.

Comshaw

i don’t remember. i turned 16, left the house and said i was out to find a job. i have since then decided people are crazy, and half of them have no business doing what they are doing. i probably paid for gas and a show. guaranteed a coffee.

with my first check i bought myself a pair of platform shoes. they were blue and white pigskin suede, had stacked blue and white heels and platforms. i'd seen rod stewart in a similar pair back when he was with faces. unfortunately, every time i wore them, i fell over. the last time, probably 2 weeks after i bought them, was in our main downtown square on a saturday afternoon when it was packed. i never wore them again.

I'm pretty sure it was a hand purse for my money and cards. I remember it was quite large and had lots of card slots and zippers because I knew I'd be filling it up. Such a confident little shit lol.

A Series 10, Aqua, electric guitar with an 8in Peavy amp. I was 12. When i sold it a few years back, i got more for it than i paid.

.
I'm almost positive it was Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl.

It could have been Animals.

I know Wish You Were Here was bought around the same time as well.

They remain my three favorite albums to this day for various reasons.

In fact........ that reminds me........

A pretty sweatpants outfit, except the sweatpants part was a short ra-ra skirt.

I looked like I has come straight from a Kids from Fame set.

Ra-ra skirts! What were those things on the go at the same time that girls wore on their heads? Deeley boppers? Bloody eighties.

I always worked. My parents only provided the minimum.

At 13, I got hired on to umpire baseball (which I had been playing since five).
I spent the whole summer saving up my money and between that
and my other jobs, mowing, painting, sanding furniture,
I was able to buy a very high-end bicycle.

This increased my ability to earn more, since I didn't have to beg for transportation.

I know. Not very exciting. That's life in KANSAS.

hey...

with the first bit of money that I earned, I paid for an afternoon of 'proper fucking' and a half pint of bourbon.
