I disagree. I question her authenticity. That is not saying I am calling her a liar...nor does it say I am supporting Manson. There are ALWAYS three sides to every story. His. Hers. And the truth. As far as I am concerned...both are sick.

What I do believe...she was underaged when he started a relationship with her. That...is the crime.

People don't change. Those that thrive on attention, will seek attention...by any means available. Anything to be relevant.

Again...I am not supporting Manson. He is a piece of shit. And I am not saying she wasn't abused. I am saying for over four years...she willingly participated because of reasons only she understands. As with all abuse...that reason, and others, outweighed the obvious negatives...until they didn't. These are her words "It took me many many years to recognize the abuse as abuse".

So the abuse was so bad...she didn't recognize it as abuse until many years later? Authenticity. Why now? What is she gaining?

I was 8. I forgot to feed and water the dog when I got home from school. I was held upside down by both feet and whipped with a belt until I pissed my pants and it didn't stop then...it kept going cause as he was whipping me, he got pee on his hand. I know what physical abuse is. I watched him take a revolver and chamber one shell...spin it...point it at my mother's head and pull the trigger as he laughed. I know what mental abuse is. I know what emotional abuse is by being asked to choose whose side i was on and having to play both sides of the fence.

It never took me many, many years to understand what I went through was abuse. I knew it daily. And so it is no surprise, I spent a decade abusing myself with drugs.

Relevancy. I learned to heal not by blaming others...but by accepting my role...my part. relevancy. Is my job to get better. I stopped giving him free rent in my head. So again ...what does she gain from this? Nothing...because the story has been told before. What she gains is relevancy..

She's currently an in-demand, working actress & singer with plenty of accolades under her belt at age 33. She's on everything from the Billboard 100 to Disney, none of it begotten by allegations. So, professional / fame relevancy can't be it...

If a male celebrity "announced" that he was emotionally and sexually abused by an Ex 15 years ago, people everywhere would laugh.

These are opportunistic publicity stunts to feed the starmaker machinery, generate Likes... and Revenue.

If women want to be equal, they should welcome being on an equal footing and not ride the fence by taking advantage of old school princess culture as a non-sequitur form of modern woman strength....just as men can't claim 1950's housewife expectations with a straight face anymore.

People have bad relationships and it's rarely one person's fault.

Own it. Learn from it. Move on. And if something legally actionable happened, pursue it, or don't. Your choice.

But you can't have it both ways.
