Eh, he did good on bringing Tony Stark to life and being one of the principal posts for the MCU as a whole, so...I forgive his smarm. As long as Ol' Shellhead is integral to the plot, he can show up where ever he wanna!

You know where my heart is at for both the Marvel and DC universes but while he truly does embody Iron Man that doesn’t make him more palatable to me. Mostly he’s an egotistical jerk who has done so many shitty things over the years and people are willing to give him a pass because he’s rich and he’s conventionally attractive. And Iron Man is a douchebag too.

Yeah, I'm not too far off of this page myself...don't really fuck with RDS' stuff outside of his Iron Man stint, not that he seems to be doing much outside of that role, anyway. Save for Tropic Thunder which was an ensemble comedy a while back and probably Weird Science, which was way way waaaaaaaay back in the day...
And Stark is currently on a dead planet in the ass end of outer space with Nebula, so...he's got plenty of quality time to reflect on his douche-iness!

I happen to think that ugly is as ugly does. I think somehow on a primal level we are able to discern actual character in a person's visage.
Earlier in life I would see someone who had kind of unfortunately unattractive looks and they would also have something of a sour disposition and I always assumed that because of the unfortunate accident of birth they developed a sour disposition because of how people treated him because of their appearance.
As I started to notice though...the actual elements of these people were more or less passable. With a better personality shining through there was nothing objectively speaking wrong with their faces it's just the way they contorted them.
