While writing a roleplay that takes place within the Port Newark Container Terminal, we -- HumanBeing and I -- found this odd boat (this is a Google Maps link) tied up to the terminal.

WTF is this?

Looks like a CAR carrier to this sissy.
:rose:
I thought about that and dismissed it, but after your input and a closer look, I think you could very well be right. There is a lot full of cars parked for export or dispersal here in the US about 140 yards away. And I found a picture of a similar boat from the same company after I found the company's logo on the side of the google maps pic.

I love the basketball court on top for the crew.

Something’s driving onto and off it, given that ramp at the stern

Yes, it looks like a "Ro-Ro"... slang for "Roll-on Roll-off".... they haul cars, trucks, tractors, military vehicles and equipment etc...

Here's a site you can use to get info, destination, location etc... for ships, around the globe...

That was the part of it that I found odd. The ramp looks permanent, and it comes into the boat at an angle, where the stern of the ship is angled. Never seen that before. But I guess if the ports at both ends of the route had a ramp like that, then it would make sense.
