Coffee Appreciation Thread

which one did you get?
Green Coffee Co. Fresh roast SR540 ( not exactly sure about the code numbers but I think that's it ) It definitely is a game changer. Thanks for the info Kit. There is way more to you than a killer sexy body. You're the best 😘😘

Glad i stumbled onto this thread. First and foremost Kit is awesome. Secondly I have been drinking Warpath coffee. You can get it online. I like the vanilla hazelnut. It’s a medium blend. Very good.

I don't roast my own beans anymore, I just get a light roast from my local Fresh Market and do a medium-fine grind eith my burr grinder. I have a milk frother for a little touch of luxury: few ounces of whole milk with a bit of sugar, and a splash vanilla or rum flavor, yum. I prefer a simple pour over, but I've been using my French press lately. Its all in the science and brew time. I really want a Belgian coffee maker but I can't justify the cost yet. Best cup of coffee ever, though. I'd like a proper cold brewer as well.

Well, I couldn’t possibly tell you the name of the excellent independent coffee shop near where I live. I enjoy the lack of people in the queue.

If I’m having instant coffee, it’ll always be Nescafe Azera in the UK.

Many, many moons ago (late 79's, early 80's) before the mermaid challenged long-time heavyweight Dunkin' Donuts on its home turf, Boston's Coffee Connection introduced me to Indonesian, Ethiopian and other varietals. Best lessons I ever took.

The mermaid bought them out. There was a lovely (but small) chain in Toronto--I forget the name now, "Tom's?"--same predation, but a few years later.

My little town has a 7 Brew. Pretty sure they are a small chain store but I enjoy their coffee, Carmel mocha, extra Carmel, hot, don't care if it's 100° out. Can't stand iced coffee.

If you're ever in Redway, CA, signature organic coffee roasts their own coffee beans right there. Always wanted to try it out. Smelled delicious!

I'm a fan of flavored whole bean coffee......hazelnut, french vanilla, toasted almond, and caramel..........not the fruits or wild flavors......although like sex I'd always try any kind probably
Hazelnut is one of my go-to but with any flavored coffee it's light roast and I prefer it to medium roast. It's still tasty though

Tom Hortons in Canada maybe?

Tom Hortons in Canada maybe?
No, that's Tim Hortons. Here on the border we have many and TBH, I think the taste has degraded in recent years. So much so that I'd rather have McDonald's.

It's killing me that I cannot remember the name, but it was damn fine coffee (credit to Twin Peaks). I bought a button there that said "Coffee now. Work later."

Timothy's at a guess. I think Timothy's went out of business 10 years ago or more. They were never big in Western Canada. Tim Horton's coffee has been Vietnamese robusto beans for ever although they don't general advertise that.

Grabba Java was pretty popular out here in Western Canada in the 90s, they actually had pretty nice drip coffee and a good selection of beans that weren't burnt the way there mermaid brand used to be.

Small roasters really took off in Vancouver in the 90s and a few are still around (49th parallel, JJ Bean, etc.

I’m a Scotsman visiting Canada and I had to prove a point today, Tim Hortons is so much better in Canada than it is in the UK.

As someone who lived in the Pacific Northwest for a while. I do miss Big Foot coffee, though possibly the best coffee shop I found was Ghost Alley Expresso in Pikes Market, Seattle.

I now live near Liverpool in the UK. And one of my favourites is Bold Street Coffee, which is a local shop and roasters. Slightly larger chains I also enjoy include 200° Coffee and Black Sheep Coffee.

Though perhaps a little oddly, my favourite drink from Ghost Alley Expresso wasn't even a coffee. It was their London Fog. Which for those who don't know, is Earl Grey tea with steamed milk and a shot of vanilla. Sadly I've so far only found one place in the UK that did one - and they have closed.

For those who like their coffee, they also did a London Smog which was a London Fog with a shot of Expresso.

I love a good cup of coffee. At home I'll always just have a cup of black coffee in the morning. Usually some ground coffee through the percolator. Mostly store bought but I love grabbing a bag of beans from some of the smaller coffee places I go to from time to time.

My small joy is making a cup of coffee on a warm morning and sitting out the back watching the sun rise.

Usually purchase organic French Roast and/or Italian Roast and/or an Espresso Roast - all whole beans and bounce back and forth among a Jura machine, a 'pour over', an AeroPress, or the classic little Italian ZanZiBar stove top espresso pot...ummmm, the smell,...the ritual,...the social meet-up,...enjoying at camp,...

I also have a Jura :)
