The local Lions Club has a Summer and a Fall BBQ cook-off; but, it's mostly just a dozen hillbillies cooking and trash talking. I'd probably compete in those but really, I just like the process of cooking meat.

Two of my pals are pretty serious about it and have companies set up to cook and sell on the weekends and at events. One is a smoker and the other is a griller. The smoker rig is huge - has a roof on it and everything. The griller has a trailer with a charcoal box and racks and can grill 200 chicken halves at a time.

Looks like my stalker sQUEaky didn't get quite the response he anticipated yesterday.

He took one of my comments in a political thread, posted it over on the blurt thread and called for his fainting couch. It's worked for him before right? Right?

Damnedest thing happened, though....nobody cared. Nobody could muster up the outrage that he cherishes so much. It's almost like....nobody cared.

So he admitted defeat after midnight, sulking and spluttering "well...Rob uses sockpuppets!" in a pathetic attempt to save face.

His posting strategeries have been as successful as his parenting attempts of late, which is to say they've both been colossal failures.

Where did you get the idea that anyone ever cared?

That was my thought process as well. Then I tasted the quality coming from the Traeger and the ease of which it works allowing me to have my weekends back instead of hovering around a smoker and battling the dammed fire in 100°+ heat.

Too hot, too cold, too much smoke, not enough smoke...
I'm not making a business out of BBQing so what do I need a giant rig for?

I have a Daniel Boone pellet unit that I can run using an app on my phone, while sitting by the cooler.

It’s convenient and will produce good eats, but sometimes I just want to be the pitmaster, and make fire and smoke.
