seriously, do you honestly believe a woman's interest in you is directly proportional to the size of your wallet?
(not judging, just doing a little statistical investigation)
You have to excuse me now. I must go replace a power steering hose on my restored Buick that drives like a dream. I put a lot of work into that fine vehicle and I prefer to do most of the work myself than to trust some clueless, over priced mechanic. But it is paid for and cheap insurance.
After that, I have to vacuum the interior of the truck I restored myself and mount the new chrome plated toolbox on the bed to replace the old one. I might sell that one soon. I have a lot of respect and pride for that particular truck. Getting the motor just right was a bitch. Put lots of time and money into it, however, it has served its' investment purposes. Time to get rid of it and start looking for another one to restore.
It really has nothing to do with cars.
I should wash my car. It's covered in dust from all the wind we've had of late.
I know this thread wasn't about cars. Sorry chupa chup.
I'm not the type of girl who will buy into the hyped-up opinions of others so easily. Sometimes it gets me into trouble. I must be in trouble if dolf had to post a kitten.
I will go and clean my room.

thankyou for your contribution.I remember an article on news radio* about what each of the genders saw as the greatest attraction for them to the other gender. They rated the top 5 attractions, but I only remember the top one of each gender.
Don't get me wrong: this isn't a criticism of women and their priorities. If I was a woman wanting to raise children in what is still unfortunately a man's world, I would want a man who could support me, my child, and our needs. And remember, I'm talking about SOME women, not ALL women. ("Money" was selected as #1 by 40% of the women, which means that 60% of the women polled -- the majority -- did NOT say money was #1. It was interesting, however, that of the 60% who did not select money #1, 80% of them did select it as #2.)
- Men: the beauty of his mate. Of course, beauty is measured in different ways across the world, so what counts for beauty in the US isn't the same as what counts for beauty in the Bantu speaking regions of Africa or the isolated jungle villages of deepest Brazil or the islands of the South Pacific or where ever you might be.
- Women: the ability of her mate to support her children ... therefore, wealth. You can call it cattle on pasture or fish in the pot or gold in the bank ... but it still comes down to the size of the man's wallet.
Just my input...
* I didn't tell you which radio program because someone would only turn this into a liberal-conservative radio argument ... and it's not about politics.
My misunderstanding. I was working off your very first post, below:thank you for your contribution.
the point dolf, myself, and a few other ladies here are attempting to make is that a guy can be quite capable of supporting a pregnant partner or a growing family without being rich, and that just because a richer man came along it doesn't mean the woman would leave her partner to be with the one with the bigger wallet.
I thought you were saying that women aren't interested in a man simply because he has money, and I was supporting the concept that financial viability is a key component of the average woman's choice in life partner.seriously, do you honestly believe a woman's interest in you is directly proportional to the size of your wallet?

and there we have it. the definitive, balanced, pointed reply i knew you'd deliver. a river? man, you're a sea
and some just like a dude happy with who he is. confidence (not misplaced cockiness) is one of the most attractive features about a man, in my opinion. we don't all desire the macho, or the super-intelligent, the body-builder or the driven. a guy who can take care of his own shit, enjoy our company, make us laugh, make us feel special? that's what we want.
i think the pressure on men might not be the same over here as in the states, financially, since our system of paying taxes/nhs means that if unemployment strikes we might find things very hard but nobody's going to starve and everyone will still be able to access medical facilities as and when we need them.

I know.
I cleaned my whole house and am ready to head out for some Grand Final Day fun.
People will either agree or disagree, or agree to disagree, but not one post here has changed my mind. People who love what they do will take pride in their work whether they're paid to do it or not. If bronzeage thinks his work commands more respect than people who do it for a living, well that's his opinion.
Talk soon![]()
why is that such a difficult concept?
There is a stark dividing line between car owners. There are men who have the skill and determination to do the work for themselves, and there are men who have the money to pay someone to do it for them.
A car built by an owner may not be as ambitious as one assembled by professional builders, but always commands more respect than any pay your money and turn the key machine. A true car builder would never buy a ready to go perfect show car. There is no satisfaction in it.
My kitty is better than your kitty!

It's only serious if she uses the hedgehog.
Good point about confidence. Women don't respect a guy they can manipulate.
in your sad world, maybe.Females dont respect males, period. They fear males, and resent how males ignore the social conventions that tie females down like Gulliver.
A car which is restored and built by the owner deserves more respect. It is not a matter of how much money he has. It is a measure of his resourcefulness, determination and skills. These abilities are not limited to his attention to a car.
To stretch the analogy a little further, well maintained and untouched are a contradiction. There is no such thing.
On the plus side, car shows are a cheap date. It's a nice walk among pleasant people and a man can really get to know a woman better. It's a great way to weed out those who simply don't get it.
I love how the "manly" men in here get to decide how women think. Interesting.
