nice sentence structure....
This sentence should be capitalized. And an ellipsis doesn't have four dots.

Cocks are cleaner than cash.
if cash was important i wouldn't have given my ex the boot.
i'm quite content in relative poverty.
seriously, do you honestly believe a woman's interest in you is directly proportional to the size of your wallet?
(not judging, just doing a little statistical investigation)
American women are shallow and insecure.

i appreciate men with a strong work ethic. this does not always translate into big bank. the wallet has never had anything to do with it. laziness is a turn off.
I think that historically, women have not held power so many are attracted to power. Some are attracted to economic power while others prefer physical, sexual, intellectual or sexual power.
I dodged a bullet there.

Luckily, you left that banana peel on the floor.
Honestly...
What woman wants to hook up with a guy who cannot provide for her or himself?
I have got to say that I believe this is almost a universal human instinct for survival and propagation ...
^^^Best post representative of how all men should think.^^^^I'm sure they have car shows in Britain, similar to the car shows in the US. These are big meetings where men(and a few women) bring automobiles of all ages and sizes to display. Some are old cars which are restored to showroom condition, some are newer cars which are radically modified. In every car, the workmanship and attention to detail is what attracts attention. Some people paint the engine bolts a different color and then install them with teflon lined sockets. Some cars are higher, some are lower, but every car owner strives to make it perfect in every detail.
There is a stark dividing line between car owners. There are men who have the skill and determination to do the work for themselves, and there are men who have the money to pay someone to do it for them.
A car built by an owner may not be as ambitious as one assembled by professional builders, but always commands more respect than any pay your money and turn the key machine. A true car builder would never buy a ready to go perfect show car. There is no satisfaction in it. Why own what any man could have, just because he could afford it?
Back to the question. There are some women who are interested in a man because of the size of his wallet. There aren't as many as some men want to believe. There aren't that many stupid women. If a man attracts a beautiful woman because he is rich, she must always worry about a more beautiful, perhaps younger woman coming along. After all, he can have his choice of women, or at least of that kind of woman.
I have never had to worry about a woman finding me attractive for my wealth, so this is not a big worry for me, or the women in my life. If a woman finds me attractive, even with my troubles and problems, I'm not worried if the problems and troubles change. She'll still be there. I have seen rich men lose all their money and the woman soon afterward.

Thank you, Mr. Bronzeage. You are a river to your people.
Billionaire George Soros, who turns 82 today, plans to marry Tamiko Bolton, 40, next year in Southampton, New York.
Soros announced his engagement to family and friends gathered at his house in Southampton on Long Island yesterday to celebrate his birthday, according to a person who attended and asked not to be named because the party was private.
The couple met in 2008 at a luncheon in New York, the person said. Soros proposed to Bolton, 40, on a recent weekend. Michael Vachon, a spokesman for Soros, declined to comment.
Bolton is a health-care and and education consultant who most recently developed a Web-based yoga-education platform, the person said. She graduated from the University of Utah and has an MBA from the University of Miami. It will be her second marriage and Soros’s third.
Soros is chairman of New York-based Soros Fund Management LLC, his former hedge fund that became a family office last year. The office oversees $25 billion for Soros, his family and foundations.
The Hungarian emigre, who ranks 21st on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, stepped back from day-to-day money management in 1989 to spend more time on philanthropic work. In the past three decades, he’s given away more than $8 billion to promote democracy, foster free speech, improve education and fight poverty around the world, according to his Bloomberg Billionaires biography. He has five children from his previous marriages.
The couple told their friends the wedding will take place next summer, the person said.

yes, this pretty much defines how i feel.really?
...define ''good job''
i'd be more attracted to a man with a modest income but who loves his job and feels he is improving things by doing it well (like a nurse or a teacher or a frickin' bus driver) than i would some corporate fat cat who leaches off the working man.
fair all roundFor some women, yes, and for others, no.
so it isn't about the size of his wallet. just about the calibre of the man.But men in America are often told that that is the golden ticket. The plush office and the sleek car are the ultimate desirables to women.
Of course it's usually other men touting this, not the women. You and Chippy were correct that the bank account usually designates the class in this country. We are young, we are told that the "American Dream" is within our reach if we just make enough money, buy the shiny things and flaunt, flaunt, flaunt.
That being said, if you ask most women I know, they're looking for a man who, yes, has a job and shows commitment to something but it doesn't have to include a corner office. I tend to make more than almost every guy I've ever dated, I don't care, what I do care about is that he doesn't take advantage of that. That there is some give and take, some sharing of the bill if you will.
I spend my Sunday nights sipping good whiskey and talking about guys with my single girlfriends. We all say the same things, what's important is 1st, them showing us that we matter, checking on us, making contact through the week. 2nd that he's honest and kind. 3rd that he's taking care of his own business, not that he's got a high paying job, just that he's got a plan for his life.
That's it.
It's universal human behavior. Charles Darwin said as much and Ed Wilson and Richard Dawkins agree.
it's so refreshing to hear this from any guy other than bronze!Low quality women will look for a man with a big wallet.
High quality women will look for a man with good personality.
It's just as true in this country, as it is in any other.
Also, guys who always fall back on this excuse, generally do it because they don't have a big wallet, or a good personality.
And to the grumpy men out there:
There's also that whole concept of "individuality", you know, in that you take each woman as an individual... and not a conglomerate of your bad experiences with women. I know it's a novel idea.
well, to be fair, rob, unemployment was not the actual issue - rather one extreme of the scale. also, plenty of girls have fallen for unemployed men. to answer your question, the answer is 'no', not an automatic disqualification - and depends entirely upon the reason he's unemployed: if he's a skanky lazy bugger that doesn't want to work, i'd not touch it with a bargepole... if he's unemployed due to local employment circumstances, illness, forced redundancy, a student, that kind of thing then i wouldn't be holding it against them. that stuff can happen to any of us..Interesting thread.
I'd like to turn the question around a bit (too lazy to start another thread, plus I'm on too many ignore lists to get a good cross-section):
Women, is an unemployed man an automatic disqualifier or a significant negative when assessing relationship potential?
(cue my detractors and their "Rob doesn't have no job!" jibba-jabba).
exactlyhasn't been an issue so far.
though, obviously, i see a difference between those who can't work (for health reasons, etc), those who are unable to find work and those who just don't want to work.
it was phrased in exactly the way AJ put it to us over in the other thread - that, if it weren't for the size of his wallet, i (and every other woman) would look right through him like some adolescent dickhead. i'm very happy to see that, on balance, this doesn't seem to be the case. of course, we all know there are women who aim only for the wallet; if any man judges himself a success by how much female attention he can attract by waving that about, then he must lack a great deal of self-confidence in himself as a person.Seriously, do you honestly believe that this question isn't phrased in a very judgemental way?
actually, an ellipsis which comes at the end of a sentence should have four 'dots'.This sentence should be capitalized. And an ellipsis doesn't have four dots.

and some just like a dude happy with who he is. confidence (not misplaced cockiness) is one of the most attractive features about a man, in my opinion. we don't all desire the macho, or the super-intelligent, the body-builder or the driven. a guy who can take care of his own shit, enjoy our company, make us laugh, make us feel special? that's what we want.I think that historically, women have not held power so many are attracted to power. i think we're talking cars that have been rebuilt well, or customised to a high standard, not the grey primer, fat tyres under bolt-on wheel arches and 'what are all these bits left?' after an engine reassembly. And then again there are some smart women and men who buy original and don't change the car in any way. An investment, not some piece of shit hack which has been lowered, supercharged and bedazzled by some idiot out to ruin somthing that was fine to begin with.
Bullshit.
Don't bullshit dolf, mkay? She's already lame at cars.
