seriously, do you honestly believe a woman's interest in you is directly proportional to the size of your wallet?

(not judging, just doing a little statistical investigation)

Nope--penis size and how good a fisherman are also factors--;):rose::rolleyes:

Honestly...

What woman wants to hook up with a guy who cannot provide for her or himself?

I have got to say that I believe this is almost a universal human instinct for survival and propagation ...

Other than the one who wants him to stare at her newly built boobs, that is...

It's not the only factor, but it is very important.

To fuck? No.
To date? Yes.

Employment is considered important because there's a stigma that unemployed guys are lazy fuckers who would rather sit on COD then go out and get a job. Having a job shows maturity, having a good job shows initiative.

This only counts for earned money- only the most shallow of bitches will stay with a man who's mooching his cash. That doesn't show any positive personality traits. "Stipend" is the way that moochers say "allowance" after 18. So it's notsomuch how much money you have, it's whether or not you're working.

Unemployed guys make her get on top!!!

Not proportional, no.

I think women in general want their men to have a job or some means of support, and there is a small subset that fixates on income as an indicator of success.

Are you implying that the wallet lust is an American only trait?

Females want males for a limited number of reasons: Financial security tops the list, toting their water comes 2nd, companionship is 3rd, and breeding is 4th. Anybody says different is a lying son of a bitch. WHATS LUV GOT TO DO WIFF IT; WHATS LUV BUT A 2ND HAND EMOTION!

Every female who ever lived was born with an accountants eye-shade upon her brow. Men who ignore this are doomed.

I love how the "manly" men in here get to decide how women think. Interesting.

really?
...define ''good job''
i'd be more attracted to a man with a modest income but who loves his job and feels he is improving things by doing it well (like a nurse or a teacher or a frickin' bus driver) than i would some corporate fat cat who leaches off the working man.

But men in America are often told that that is the golden ticket. The plush office and the sleek car are the ultimate desirables to women.

Of course it's usually other men touting this, not the women. You and Chippy were correct that the bank account usually designates the class in this country. We are young, we are told that the "American Dream" is within our reach if we just make enough money, buy the shiny things and flaunt, flaunt, flaunt.

That being said, if you ask most women I know, they're looking for a man who, yes, has a job and shows commitment to something but it doesn't have to include a corner office. I tend to make more than almost every guy I've ever dated, I don't care, what I do care about is that he doesn't take advantage of that. That there is some give and take, some sharing of the bill if you will.

I spend my Sunday nights sipping good whiskey and talking about guys with my single girlfriends. We all say the same things, what's important is 1st, them showing us that we matter, checking on us, making contact through the week. 2nd that he's honest and kind. 3rd that he's taking care of his own business, not that he's got a high paying job, just that he's got a plan for his life.

That's it.

It's universal human behavior. Charles Darwin said as much and Ed Wilson and Richard Dawkins agree.

"Females get to choose."
