I am prejudiced .....

i have 3 sons, from teen to late twenties, and none of them are overweight. the eldest has started developing a softer midline, it's true, but he's an adult making his own choices. the younger two are tall and on the skinny side. if they have money in their pockets, nine times out of ten they will choose to buy junk food rather than eat a full, healthy, home-cooked meal. my cooking isn't shit, either. it's just how most teens eat on the hoof when out with mates. my two eldest smoke - i never have. my youngest loves a dish of freshly steamed vegetables with a big blob of butter on. the other two rarely eat vegetables unless i've cooked and they're eating at mine.

it's all about individual choice at the end of the day. personally, i find junk food gives me indigestion and never tastes as good as it smells or looks.

It's because it is

Even if it is (and I doubt it is... I am a frugal shopper), then they are making a conscious decision of quantity over quality, and that results in their own obesity. No sympathy from me.

By their own hand shall they fatten their bellies!! Fatten away, fatties. Fatten away.

And another thing...I hate it that they sweat.

Nice sweat from skinny people engaged in real (and sometimes very exciting activities !) is nice.

Awful sweat from obese people who are sweating just because they are breathing is to be avoided at all cost.

They also move slowly....lumbering along, I hate that! If I'm behind one of those fat-bodies, trying to get into the store, its like....move it buddy! God damn!

....against obese people because they have no excuse - no glands, no genes, just greed and laziness. Say what you will, life-style has a lot to do with it, hours lounging in front of the TV with bowls of carbs and fast food crap.

Village on a Diet proved that years of bad habits can be broken and replaced by healthy ones.

If you disagree bite me, you know i'm right.

Where is the outrage? My "Prejudice... Poor" thread is just as offensive as this one. Either you did not actually mean what you said in the OP and everyone knew it... or they like you better than they like me.

I'm prejudiced against lefty liberals but that doesn't mean I point and laugh. Well ok maybe at a protest I would. Y'all are mean. Fat people need love too.

Beer is good. Tater chips are good. Pork ribs are good. Ask Michelle Obama.

Ugh, totally. Especially when theres a line of them, lumbering like bloody elephants. And standing wherever they'll cause the most annoyance to everyine around them...

Ya know you wouldn't say that if you had to use a shoe horn to remove your thong from your butt because you were trying to be sexy for yo man.

ok, what about the slim, tall, good-looking guy with appalling halitosis or BO? what about the cute young woman with wind problems or the extremely aggravating voice/laugh?

most people have something about them any one of us can find irritating if we allow it.

Halitosis, irritating voices/laughs and body odour don't cost the health systems of the world billions. If you find me shallow and small minded I'm not surprised, that is often the reaction when one voices a frank opinion that many others hold but can't or won't put voice to.

So, you are prejudiced about yourself? That's amazing.

My biggest, and really only issue with the obese is type 2 diabetes. That is in their control.

My son has type one; thru no fault of his own. It's an autoimmune disorder, and there is not any amount of exercise, or diet control, that can "cure" him of that. He has it for life because it's basically pancreatic failure.

The ones with type 2, who CAN fix it - should they choose - do anger me. I'd give anything if my son could make simple lifestyle changes and be cured.

Yet, for him? Not to be. He cannot be cured; til a cure is found. It does make me angry that people with type 2 can fix it, yet many choose not to.

My son suffers thru no choice of his own. It cannot be fixed.

Yes, that makes me mad.

All the negatives against obese people you started this thread for can also be attributed towards the skinnies. Being skinny is not a guarantee for being physically attractive, accommodating, clean or socially pleasant.

If you think you're being seen as shallow and small minded with your opinion, that's one thing. Maybe you are, maybe you're not. That's for the listener to decide. I doubt you care either way and that's life. But you're not being original or giving the audience some sort of revelation in this annual fat-bashing thread that people don't know about. Maybe people would rather talk about sex than how fat people piss them off because they're heard the same song one too many times.

What is that supposed to mean?!
Thongs are a pain in the butt no matter how big or small said butt is.

For the record there are such a thing as food addicts. Now that is not always the case. Laziness and habits as you say are a typical cause but there are people who are addicted to food the same way some are to booze and drugs.
Also women do sometimes have some hormonal things going on. The average guy on the I other hand does tend to have it be beer and laziness

Well, and truly, insults don't work. My ex is obese, greatly. It angers me that he doesn't care enough about himself to be around for his boy. But insults, put-downs, will never change him. He must find that within himself. I know it's a struggle, I do. I've struggled with that 30 pounds forever, and while I'm not obese I am overweight according to the charts.

I love myself enough to not give too much of a shit what others say, but I am concerned health wise. Morbidly obese does make me mad, because they are ignoring the needs of their loved-ones. Much as are the anorexic/bulimic.

Or smokers. Or over-drinkers. Or people who don't exercise. or ones who over-stress themselves to an early grave. All is selfish. All is hard to overcome. Depressed individuals who refuse medical help also fall in this category.

It's a tough rut to climb out of. That I know. I've suffered stress and depression, and no amount of ridicule helped. Encouragement did help; put downs did not. It only made the hole deeper.

Perfect people don't get it. I wouldn't know, cause I am not perfect.

Course you don't cause you're mentally challenged. You live in truly an illusion of the internet. You have no life outside of this.

And probably WOW.

"You don't know me. You only think you do." Quote from Get Shorty, but fitting.

But let's not make this about me. Tell us more of your pain and anguish.
