The illustrations are my own. For the most part they will be pencil drawings on standard copier paper, because that is the quickest method to spew concepts.

Generally, I do not fuss over them, as I have plenty of other projects that require fussing and these are just for giggles. That's not to say, that I don't love them "just the way they are" (awe!). I have drawn the nude figure for many many years and honestly, I can draw quite accurately when required. I don't alway require that of myself. In spontaneous drawings I often enjoy the accidental distortions and often make intentional ones!

I am considering using this old thread as an underground repository (suppository even) of images. I find it very disheartening that posts get very little response these days, so may as well keep them buried, but still have access to them when I need them

I used to enjoy cruising about the boards, but I can't quite "click". I've tried a few times to post in the "show your face" (or even hands) threads, and those have fallen flat. Which is not encouraging. As for where I have been more comfortable — in the visual arts — the threads that seem to get response are Poser/DAZ (3D modeling) images or very tight drawings, which are not my cuppa.

My style (artistically and personality) just ain't moving folk (especially women folk, who I'd like to "move"), there have been some, but their attention eventually wanes. *shrug*

Not a lot of action there. STILL have to be participating in "The New Look"/"BETA" for votes to stick. And it seems that someone doesn't like my work and/or me — as soon as an image starts getting votes, it gets "counter votes". That happens with stories too, but just a couple votes among so few, carries more weight here.

Voting is still really odd "up front". Finally generating "Some" votes, and one got a "heap" (all sorta relative), and the average bounces up and down quite a bit. I can probably back off on monitoring. Still very little as far as comments go. One certainly cannot get much sense with the why someone votes the way they do, as the voting is not at all connected to comments.

I am pretty sure that the red "hot" H is like that of stories — after 10 (or more votes and the average is above 4.5, it is awarded. I managed to "secure" (momentarily) a few. Many of my illustrations are stuck below the minimum number of votes.

The voting is still rather funky. Once an image drops from the "new" page, naturally the votes drop off. Though some that have recently had a red "H" seem to get selected to be voted down. That COULD be legit, in that the H gets them some attention, and the new voters are "meh" about the image. It's all very curious.

I've been somewhat reluctant to do much voting myself. Though there have been a handful of illustrations which I've really liked, and have given 5s, and comments to. It would be interesting, but a bit too unwieldy, to have some sort of "gymnastics" type of scoring — Risk, Originality, Virtuosity. Only... Subject matter, Execution, Composition, Medium --- or sumthin'. Though, if images were sorted into different medium categories (I'd probably just ignore Poser/Daz), likewise if sorted by subject matter (like stories) I could just pass by the scat, gay, violence...

Alrighty. 60 posts (some with multiple images)
Managed to trick folk into nearly half getting H-s (still considerable fluctuation)

Tho' one has to keep "feeding the beast". Attention is primarily while a work is on the NEW/recent list. Makes some sense. And there are a handful of folk who crank out and post rubbish images, what with no vetting. It's akin to stories with pervasive spelling and grammatical errors, on top of crappy plot and characters.

Even when the voting is good... minimal commentary and format not made for conversation keeps it from becoming "all that".

An interesting series over several years.
This began waaay back when my wife was who I married and she would (ocassionally...rarely) model for me.

Much later (2 years), I used one such drawing as the basis for an erotic drawing.

I still wonder about the wording of the rankings:

3= AVERAGE

I would think that some sort of qualifying comment should be required to vote. There are quite a few images that I "hate", for a variety of reasons —bad technique, control, "squicky" imagery, DAZ (especially poorly lit, composed), trying to pass filtered photos as actual drawings... Yet I have only voted for images that I like or Love (4s or 5s). I am pretty sure that votes still don't "stick" unless one is using "beta" testing.

I certainly expect that my imagery will not appeal to everyone, and perhaps some images may not appeal to anyone.

as to the "snapshot", I really do enjoy photographic and video "pornography".
As far as erotic "art" goes, I loath photos that have been manipulated (filters) to pretend to be hand rendered.

I am impressed by the technical mastery of (some) photo realistic renderings, BUT am mostly feeling — "why?", why not just the photo? They often become more of a parlor trick, if they do not bring something more to the story. I have had training in scientific illustration, and learned techniques of high reality, most was done from "life", actual specimens.

I have seen only a handful of CGI erotic imagery that I enjoy, and a glut of tiresome "Poser" (ironically named) "erotica"
