Are they not the same? If not, please elucidate for the great unwashed masses, as some people's Profile pics do seem to match their forum avatars while others do not(mine). Is there a secret code to set your avatar, or do I need to know the secret handshake, because I cannot find where to do it.OP is asking about Profile pics, not forum Avatars, or are they? The terms gets swapped around a lot.
Waaaaaaa, Waaaaaa. Mommy, I want an avatar. Why can't I have an avatar? LOLI'm not sure if you can still do both. With the old forum package (prior to about two years ago), you could set an Avatar that would show on your forum posts and a Profile Picture that would only show when someone looked at your profile. Some of the older Profile Pictures that were set before the change (such as yours) remain.
Use with creator's permission is also okay, yes?Keep in mind that pictures uploaded to Lit (including avatars) must be your own property; pictures you took with your own camera, or created yourself. Most of the ones I see here probably do not qualify, such as the two Dick Pics on the first page of this thread. Seems most Litzens don't care about that, but I would think authors who are concerned about copyrights would.
Only one person can answer that and you know who she is. I just paraphrased published policy as posted here:Use with creator's permission is also okay, yes?
Um, uh, yeah, sure. I have a hard copy file folder containing every picture I have ever posted with notarized and signed permission from the originator...Only one person can answer that and you know who she is. I just paraphrased published policy as posted here:

That said, if she were to ask you about it, would you be able to provide proof? You don't need to answer here obviously. More or less rhetorical.
Personally I think you should go back to that one you had two avatar’s ago…I had to take a cold shower every time I visited the AH…but like everyone else, I never pay attention to avatar’s.My earlier avatars were rather too provocative. Or rather they maybe worked for me back then, less so now. I’ve gradually both toned them down and made them more personal. Though whatever flavor of image you go for, if it’s recognizably female, it will attract attention.
To be critical, my current one is a little too teenie for someone my age. But Hentai is kinda like that.

I’m sticking with my rather sweeter avatar. Thanks.Maybe you could put Anastasiya back on there for a week and we could poll the group on that vs. current?
Cute avatar by day, but by night...I’m sticking with my rather sweeter avatar. Thanks.

I've struggled to pick an avatar. But maybe a favorite bird:
They're the same thing. Avatar=profile picI'm not sure if you can still do both. With the old forum package (prior to about two years ago), you could set an Avatar that would show on your forum posts and a Profile Picture that would only show when someone looked at your profile. Some of the older Profile Pictures that were set before the change (such as yours) remain.
Sometimes, not always. my Profile pic has yet to matriculate to my forum avatar. Glitch in teh matrix somewhere...They're the same thing. Avatar=profile pic
Lotsa sites say that... aaannndd lots of them don't care. I think my first avatar on here was Samourai Jack. I've used Vash The Stampede on many sites. I've changed nearly all of them on sites I'm active on to the toon meme pic of me. I know one site I still have my Daria avatar."Do not upload any copyright protected images, text, audio, or video. If you did not create a photo or other work, you probably do not have the legal right to post it on the forum. ... Members repeatedly posting copyright materials without authorization of the copyright owner will be banned."
Taking that first sentence literally we wouldn't even be able to upload our own copyright-protected material, which presumably isn't the intention. In context of those other sentences, I'm working on the assumption that "legal right to post it on the forum" is what Laurel cares about, until I hear otherwise.
For the cases where I've used images created by other people, one had been released into the public domain and for the others I'd received written permission from the creators to use them this way.
I mean the terms are interchangable.Sometimes, not always. my Profile pic has yet to matriculate to my forum avatar. Glitch in teh matrix somewhere...
If you try to edit your forum avatar, it will take you to your profile. I'm sure they're supposed to be the same, but supposed to doesn't mean is...I mean the terms are interchangable.
This one?

That’s Anastasiya Pavlivna Gryshai.
I thought maybe using a Belarusian pornstar was getting me the wrong type of attention. Or rather my views on what attention I wanted shifted rather radically.

But you're going to do it anyway, aren't you.Is it weird that I now feel like looking up this pornstar would be creepy and a gross invasion of your privacy? It's weird, isn't it?
