Much of it is routine, like today's tedious but necessary interactions with medics and clerks. Otherwise, money can be involved. No, we haven't room for a harmonium or sitar or veena or that rustic 3-string standup bass at Nim P'ot in Antigua Guatemala. (Envision a supermarket of craft goods from the entire Maya world, cheap, complete with pagan shrine to Maximón.)

No, I'm thinking of more mandolas, and of charangos and balalaikas and fretted bowed viols, even a bowed psaltery. (That's an easy one.) All they take is either money or the effort to clear out a room to convert into an instrument workshop and build stuff.

But that's work. I hate work. Don't y'all?
