"Hi i want to see tits i your tits are nice (side note: I had never shown my tits on this site so how the hell did he know they're spectacular... not that they're not )
can you IM me ******* i will like to see some tits from you!
and i maybe can be your friend please?"
Got that, too.jadefirefly said:I am not sure what I've done lately, or where I've posted that I haven't been posting before, but within the last 4 days or so, I've received PM's on this site from three males I've never even seen on here before, much less have a clue who they are.
One of them stopped messaging me after a brief conversation; the last one I got from him, he'd asked if I was single. I replied, and haven't heard from him since. The second one, I replied politely to his query of what I was up to that night, and again... haven't heard from since.
I wonder what I'm doing wrong....?
This one, though, is my official contribution for the month. I feel obligated to point out that I received it at 7:51pm tonight. I also feel obligated to point out that I was not yet home at 7:51pm tonight, and didn't log on to Lit until 10:30 this evening.

shy slave said:I got one recently from someone who joined last year and has never posted.
They gave me personal information about another poster here.
That poster is someone I like a great deal but I don't need to know all the things that have happened to them.
What bothered me more than anything is I dont talk to this person a great deal on the boards so who else did they pm in the hope of causing trouble.
I have responded and asked them questions about their motivation for sending me a pm.
I also told them that to lurk since Nov last year and openly say they follow this persons posts sounds like stalking.
The pm was written in a 'caring' tone but it gave me the creeps.
The idea that people are out there watching and not participating, yet they decide to privately tell everyone someones personal life is very unsettleing.
Anyone involved in BDSM or D/s may be seen as perverts but frankly there are worse people out there.
This pm made me realise that I want to be more circumspect about what I share and who I talk to.
A sad result

It isn't surprising that there are gossips here, at least it isn't a surprise to me. Since those who use the internet are people, we will have pretty much the entire spectrum of human behaviour represented here. The good, the bad, the generous, the selfish, the passionate, the cold-hearted, the trustworhty, the dishonest, the close mouthed, the loose-lipped.
I think that the only human characteristic I would not expect to find represented here on line is true illiteracy, the inability to read. (I'm not talking about functional illiteracy where joe or jane asshat can't spell 1 in 3 words correctly or can't write a legible sentence)
But with voice recognition software and reading software, even people with that particular disability may be showing up on line.
Welcome to the internet. Where anything you say or post, can, and will, be read or viewed by someone you don't know, spread to others you have no clue even exist, and may be used by one (or more) of them to masterbate to. There is no such thing as privacy, or a secret, on the internet. Do not demand it, let alone expect it.
Ain't technology grand?

jadefirefly said:Thank you, Shy, for your discretion.
My most recent post, and Shy's, were essentially about the same person.
The sad thing is, the person himself didn't creep me out as much as I was pissed off and angry -- I've recently taken more deliberate steps to protect myself on the internet. I've set my LJ to private, I've withdrawn from message boards that my stalker-ish ex frequents, and I generally watch how much public information about myself is out there now.
It pissed me off to have a random, unknown poster telling me things about myself that were accurate enough to have come from someone who had access to personal info about me.
What it comes down to, though, is it doesn't matter who the information is about or where it goes -- nobody should be so much of an asshat as to pass along private, *hurtful* information about someone else, just for shits 'n giggles. It didn't do Shy any good to receive that info. It didn't do me any good for it to be out there. And it didn't do the person he was defending any good, either.
... No, wait. Yes, it did. But that's a totally different story. Point is... use protection! Online, too!
graceanne said:I'm just glad they sent the info to shy, who's discrete and not a gossip. It could have been worse, they could have done it publicly or sent it to someone who isn't discrete. *hugs* Please be careful, k? Cause that's just seriously, WAY creepy.
jadefirefly said:Yeah, it is.
It'd have been creepier, though, if I hadn't known that all of that personal info was from my SO, and not just stuff he found on his own. I've had -that- happen before, too.
I like Shy even more, now. She's such a sweetie.

Etoile said:I've seen creepy stalkers on here before. Actually it was more personal abuse. The woman was a regular on GLBT Chatter and suddenly someone turned up and started harrassing her. Come to find out this was her husband, but they were going through a messy divorce. She asked if there was anything I could do but mods don't have the power to ban people. I ended up contacting Laurel and letting her know what was going on, and she said she'd take care of it.
I am all over the place on the web, it would be extremely hard - probably impossible - to erase myself. I don't feel the need to do so right now, fortunately, but you never know what might happen.
Why thank you!ThorkelGriersen said:Haven't seen you in some time, Etoile. Same sweet, smart, caring person. Would that everyone were like you!
