Advice on Loving Wives

Was it something I said?
I don’t see my story the way you do. Please keep your opinions to yourself if all you can do is criticize and insult. I obviously have a lot to think about still. Maybe I should stay out of LW, maybe I will work on other projects. It’s my decision, thx for your concerns. Now leave me be please. Thx.
OOH, you meant the other fellow.

You don't need to stay out of LW. Any story about an established couple can work there. You just need to decide if you want high views and comments with a lower score (LW), or a higher score with fewer views and comments (anywhere else).
Not necessarily... the very same hater accounts will follow you to BDSM or NC/R, what have you, to downvote and 1-bomb you, and leave their hate comments.

This guy screams the coffee ain't fucking hot enough. No, he doesn't, but he does bitch about whatever he gets. I think he wants them to give him a free cup when he leaves. They usually do. He's a spooky dude. Bald, no eyebrows, not one hair you can see. He has dark sunken eyes and a really mean look. Jo wants to kick ass almost every time she sees him. If she could think of an excuse and make it his fault, she would or get her's kicked trying.
Yeah. A lot of capable, knowing, and toasty splendid women hang out with him for some reason. Including this one furious Valkyrie who particularly intrigues me. :D

I was simply trying to show Achtung why his story will not be well received in LW. I don't follow and 1-bomb anybody. His story would be better suited ( and better received) in Romance or erotic couplings or some such place. But like he so well pointed out, it is his decision.

I'm not talking about you, don't worry about that.

Fun Only for one side. Hence why the other side gets upset and fights back.
Cheating encompasses a number of different scenarios, an affair, a one-off, a bachelor or bachelorette party, conference sex, vacation sex, all of which can have different outcomes/consequences. Affairs invariably get discovered, and cause pain, hurt, divorce, and multiple other outcomes, rarely good. On the other hand, bachelor and bachelorette parties should be no fault zones, and keep your mouth shut. On the rest of the random one-offs, I have always believed in "no harm, no foul". I know this is not a popular opinion, but that is my thought on the matter.

Thx. I’ll probably post in EC. If this story flows out of my head at all. First I have to deal with a few important life challenges. Wish me luck.

(Paraphrased) "Create a separate alt for LW stories, don't let anyone in LW know you have other items in the catalog, they will attack those other stories as well."

Actually this is good advice for just about any category, because someone who loves your Romance offering just won't be able to deal with a story you wrote and published in I/T or Humor. Note that I have no stories published under this alt... Somebody is bound to take offence at something I say on the boards.
I have never had that problem. I have had comments that what I wrote is not as good as others I have written.
In fact, I see a jump in readership of my older stories overall every time I post a new one.

I have, but it doesn't bug me much. I know that LW readers tend to be sexually conservative, and that means that sometimes they really dislike a thing I write in another category. They're not hatevoting it, they're going in, reading it, and finding it not to their taste. Do I wish they'd heed the "Dead Dove - Don't Eat" warnings I try to put at the tops of my stories and not read/rate them if they think they won't like them? Yes. But I'd rather have more people reading than fewer, so...

Well, I posted my Loving Wives work and this is the first time I’ve decided to turn off voting and comments in a while. Will probably leave off comments at least till I get out of the New pile. That place has a reputation for a reason. Never again.

I’m more comfortable in Group Sex for future swinging works. Or good old Fanfiction of course. Hopefully the haters won’t follow me out.

Advice on LW?

All you need, right here: *boop*

(Okay? Maybe not ALL you need, but it's an informative, helpful resource)

So my most recent story "Hotel Room Surprise" (https://www.literotica.com/s/hotel-room-surprise-2) is a short, 5000 word story about a man who meets a couple and is part of her extra-marital fun. The "reason" for them seeking an additional man is because they have a cum-eating kink, and she seduces him. It's not poorly written or grammatically poor, but likewise is unlikely to win any awards. Nothing special, nothing spectacular. When it first went up there was a spate of "1 star" votes and critical comments such as:
  • "Your tags are enough to automatically give 1☆ cum eating is fetish and your story belongs in the fetish category."
  • "Wrong category. 1*"
  • "Just dogs meeting in an alley, sticking their noses in each other's assholes, then fucking. Great literature. You think porn is supposed to be trash. Yours is."
The definition of Loving Wives is "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more"

This is the very concept of my tale. A married couple, where she is knowingly playing with another man. It's 100% Loving Wives. Those comments claiming I miscategorised my story are incorrect. Yet, the site seems to have evolved so that a vocal minority gatekeep the Loving Wives category, and we have accepted it? Surely, either the definition needs to change or the toxic attitude towards authors who write erotica and categorise appropriately will drive writers away.

Loving Wives incels don't care what the category is about. You can't win with them if you venture into cheating without dire consequences. Lapping up the cum for your spouse's well-used cheating pussy is a basic trope for cheating wife stories elsewhere, but you'll get the burning because you don't burn the bitch.

And that's a problem for me.

The category isn't "Loving Wives - Cheating with BTB"; how have we evolved to find the incels telling the site what the category is, rather than site? The definition is "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more" not what they think it is.

I know the limitation of my craft; I don't write to make my fortune but for relaxation, but for this sanctimonious pillock to feel emboldened to say "Wrong Category, 1*" has riled me somewhat.

If you publish in Loving Wives, you must have thick skin. I do, but not thick enough for the abuse heaped on by the INCELS of Lit.

The owls are not what they seem… neither is LW. If you want to understand, read @NoTalentHack ’s helpful essay.

I've read it. I don't disagree with much of what is written, but I find the premise fundamentally flawed.

I first came across the issues with the Loving Wives moral gatekeepers in 2014 with a story called "Cucked!" - a relationship built around female non-monogamy. In ten years, it's got worse. I am writing 25 short stories with the same prompt for each category. Hence, my submission to Loving Wives, having avoided it for almost a decade.

My issue is that the site has allowed this to continue. Clearly, there is a want for a category where BTB and revenge is rife. But that is not what Loving Wives is. LW is described as "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more" and stories which fit this narrative are being flamed by those who believe they have the right to decide what a category should be about.

Their comments are poisonous and unconstructive. They are incorrect; the stories are correctly categorised.

It’s the difference between intentions and outcomes. The reality is that LW’s description is inaccurate. It is what it is.

It’s become that way because a load of readers wanted it. It makes sense for the site to listen to its customers, even if the outcome is deeply uncool.

Then two things need to happen IMO:
  1. Loving Wives needs to be relabelled as "Relationship Breakdown: Stories of divorce, breakup and twisted tales of BTB"
  2. There needs to be a new category called "Non-Monogamy: Cheating, cuckolding, wife-sharing and polyamory."
At the moment, those who want Loving Wives to be about relationship breakdown are poisonous towards anything that doesn't fit their narrow view of the world, despite stories being signposted.

The site sees clicks as clicks and they don't care who they come from.

The growing faction of incels and nutbags wants the category to be BTB only or 1950's bare foot house wives.

The worse thing anyone can do is to start posting elsewhere because of them. I have something I'll probably drop there after the holidays. Most likely will score under three with a ton of insults and personal attacks.

But hey, we don't get paid by the score here, or at all, so who cares? They do...which is why I don't.
