I am asking this question about MtF transgender people. The web is full of Shemale porn (and I admit an attraction to it). What I want to know is when people go to the length of dressing like a woman, wearing make-up doing hormone therapy or breast implants to they continue to get the final genital surgery.

If not is it because they want to join the porn industry, they cannot afford the surgery or they identify with this stage of the change. And are there others reasons I have not mentioned.

I am asking this respectfully because I want to understand more about people who choose to change their gender.

The final surgery from what I read is a somewhat complicated task.

Good question you are asking. Hope we get good answers.

I suggest you read StickyGirl's thread for general info on trans issues.

Getting GCS (gender confirmation surgery, also called gender reassignment or sex reassignment surgery) is not an option for many trans people, usually for economic or health reasons. It doesn't make a trans woman any less a woman, or a trans man any less a man. Also, you shouldn't ask a trans person what's between their legs - if they think you need to know, they'll tell you.

there are many reasons why people dont go all the way including the ones you mentioned but in many cases we are just happy with what we have and have no wish to change the plumbing arrangements as it were .having the full surgery can be painful according to friends who have had it and not always a great success but i think you will find everyone has a different perspective .

Thank you for the suggestion. I also agree with you that it does not make them less of a woman or man. I thought cost might be an issue. Did not think about the health issue.

thanks. I did wonder if some people chose to stay with their original plumbing because they wanted to. And as haunri said it does not make them any less a man or woman.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for mentioning that as well - not all trans people are dysphoric about their genitals. Also, the state of the surgical procedures is not yet perfect (there can be complications) so some people may opt not to do it for that reason.
