I find myself in a situation where I have access to coffee beans (granny's house) and yet there is no grinder. Just 500 pounds of tea.
Since we're here for a while in the wildness and no shops for miles, I took it upon myself to save the coffee drinking part of the family.
Yes. You can brew coffee without grinding the beans.
Put 3-5oz of beans in small saucepan add three cups of water and lightly, very lightly, simmer for one hour.
Works wonderfully. The only catch is that some of the water is going to disappear. So you might want to start off with a cup more than you need.
