Backroads, 24 hour department store parking lots, and light traffice rest areas work for me. Never been caught. Parking garages are monitored heavily for break ins etc so I'd advise against it.

I live in a fairly large Metropolitan area with a lot of security given the lifestyles of the folks whom live/work/operate in the city. As such, finding a 'private' public spot can def be a difficult tasking, esp since most spots do have camera systems employed in addition to mobile personal security teams.

That being said, I find the 'best' spots are usually residential neighborhoods or parking complexes near malls. The malls are usually decent spots for night time escapades, assuming you are not lingering for hours on end, but for a hour or so, def get some privacy. As others have pointed out, if you have a large vehicle or one with tinted windows the experience is a lot better, as would-be passer-bys are not able to really notice. But the issue with security possibly investigating is still a concern and a bit of a rush. IMO, the better solution for this is actually to have sex outside of the vehicle in the same area. Not only is it more of an 'exposure' element but more importantly, it affords more opportunities to find secluded spots to get a quickie on. One can quickly change or restore the order of clothing if approached and its easier to actually feel/touch yoru partner rather than being confined to the vehicle.

All that said, if one is looking for a longer escapade lasting more than a few minutes, parking in a residential neighborhood is my top recommendation. Esp in areas that have 'enclosed' communities, there are often only one or two ways to enter the housing area and plenty of side streets near the perimeter to 'blend' in. At night its unlikely folks will be walking around and a suspect vehicle really won't call attention to itself unless is parked indefinitely, blocking someone's drive way, or flashing lights. Finding a cul-de-sac or dead end is great for being able to scout folks who may be imposing or parking by/near the parks of the place afford the liberty of being slightly louder than one would initially conduct themselves in such a situation.
