I don't think I can write about crushing disappointment while your AV is making me exhale frappucino through my nostrils.

:D

A stage.

A bare tree, broken.

Lights rise.

Lights fall.

I don't need 150 words:

Little girl, last pennies, buys ice cream.

Walks from vender, excited, smiling, happy.

10 paces, ice cream falls onto floor!

left holding cone!

Desolation.

Awwwwwwww! Yep, that about describes it! :rose:

Wedded bliss was not so ‘blissful’ as it turned out. Bitter feelings, bruised ego and a mountain of bills tend to leave a sour taste in one’s mouth.

Finding another true love after such a traumatic experience can be rewarding and can make one feel like the luckiest person on earth for having been so fortunate.

The feeling of falling in love is indescribable and takes over your thoughts day in, day out. That ‘high’ of feeling loved and giving love back can be compared to nothing else on earth.

Once that plateau is reached, and the relationship settles down and becomes a part of your everyday life, contentment kicks in; a balance of happiness and security.

Then to have all that taken away by the lie and spiteful act of a so-called friend, through nothing more than sheer jealousy, makes you want to just give up. Fucking bitch.

150 words exactly :)

You won . . . in my heart:heart:

Okay. In an attempt to redeem the thread. Here's a quickie:

"Fa la la la la ... la la la la," Stormy sang as she packed. Three days and two nights in Negril with Mia! Who could ask for a better gift? The women had reconnected online shortly after Stormy's winning ad campaign went public. Mia had written to tell her that rainy season business was indeed booming at the Baldi Termae hot springs.

Memories of their tempestuous encounter in the Costa Rican rain filled Stormy's mind, making her weak in the knees. Things had been so busy since then that Stormy had barely found the time to eat and sleep, much less play. In just six hours, she'd again be wrapped in Mia's café au lait arms. Heaven!

The beep-beep-beep of The Weather Channel's alert intruded on her anticipatory reverie. Stormy stopped to read the red crawler, her heart sinking to her toes. Winter Storm Warning. Blizzard conditions. All airports closed.

*Not disappointed no more!!!*

I should think not! ;)

Ok, here's my reason to be disappointed...

A woman comes online, hoping to catch up with a special someone, and have a good chat about the events of the day, then her bloody internet connection goes apeshit on her. She keeps re-booting, but it lasts no longer than two minutes at a time. Then it goes down, completely.

She waits...

Eventually...

They've fixed it!

And when she comes back online, the poor love was so knackered, he'd had to go off to bed.

;) :rose:

Hey BS, simply cutting the dialogue out of Godot doesn't cut the mustard!

The x-ray was for something else, but it showed a shadow on his smoker's lungs.

He'd told his family, but what can anyone say, face to face? "I hope..." "It probably won't..." And then a slightly embarrassed hush.

So he took it on-line; to the people he talked to even more than to his family. He had to get this out: to make it something external that didn't simply turn over and over and over inside his own mind.

He admitted that the only thing he regretted was not having a new lover: new skin; young skin; the excitement of being conquered by a new conquest.

And she replied. Said she would - if it was really going to be a dying wish.

And she lived less than an hour's drive away. This wasn't just a pipe dream; it could really happen!

But the tests said he wouldn't die...

Imp,

I'm not sure if this was what you had in mind, but here is 146 words from my latest "yet to be published" novel.

At first, he stood and stared at the grave, trying to make sense out of what had happened. But his mind wouldn’t function.

He reached down and began moving flowers aside until raw, newly-turned, red clay came into view. He knelt and put a hand on the grave, then he laid down beside it and placed his arm over the mound of earth. Now he could think of Amy and about what might have been and what once had been. The time when they were kids and went fishing with Willie and caught all those little fish. The time in high school when she missed that free throw and cried for days. The time last spring when they first kissed. The time at the lake when he knew he’d always love her. The time she screamed “Yes!” and jumped into his arms. Those were their times.

Thanks Imp. Of course, a lot of agents and editors, not to mention other AH writers, have said my writing is disappointing. :)
