Which would be removed on the next sweep. I wonder if Laurel and Manu keep a list of people who cause them extra work through their behaviour. I sure hope so.

I wouldn't automatically assume it was the person who asked for the link. There's plenty of assholes who lurk this forum.

But whateves, I had a blast! They mostly didn't get as many views or as high of scores as my longer stories. Except for Bob's Furniture Barn, I have no idea why that one struck a chord with people. But they all got a surprising amount of comments, about half from other authors which was neat

My numbers as of March 1st:

We'll see if they go up or down in the coming days, but who cares, the fun-to-labor ratio on them was wonderful!

Cookies, Commands, and Subroutines 4.45 (was hoping this one would be higher, but I expect the longer story to do a little better. The comments have been wonderful, though!)

My gut feel, based on not much, is a 0.3 to 0.4 difference. On one of mine, the Vote/View ratio is typical 1:100 and the score is not bad. On the other (with the lower score), it's a less typical 1:60, and the score is lower. The 750 scores are possibly more honest (based on what I think I know about sweeps).

Four of my six made "The Big List". One of the ones excluded (An Asian Dream) might have benefitted from exposure. It sat above 4.5 for a while and then took a plunge. The Elf one, well, it seemed like a cute idea at the time.

I copped a one-star on all three of my efforts. The one that annoys me the most is the essay, as it's only got three ratings. Ah well. I'd say my expectations were met but not exceeded; I thought Whatever It Takes was pretty good for a first effort. But it's about as erotic as a plank of wood, so I'm not surprised it's not in the 4.5 range. And Gold in the Water is a bit of a mess.

I think all three made the list, but I haven't noticed any major jumps in readership, and certainly nothing in reviews or comments.

One of the missing ones is a counterpart to one that's listed, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Of the six I'd submitted, I'd rather the two that were "paired" be listed than any of the others.

Both of my submission made it to the list. The one in L/W got slaughtered as expected but the one in Humor did much better that I had anticipated. It lost red H very recently.

It was fun and I would love to do this again next year.

I think I've picked up no new ratings, two favorites and maybe a dozen reads across three stories.

One of my stories picked up a lot of votes, the other two, not so much. I'm not going to blame the issues we've had with getting stories on the list, I had two make the list and one get left off, but we have to keep in mind, the 750 Word Challenge is for US, not THEM. 750 words isn't enough to make someone reach for the box of kleenex, but for us it's a challenge and a half - the proper words in the proper order to get the image across. Exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion - it's nearly impossible to get it all in there. Don't be disappointed if you didn't get a lot of votes. Many readers are looking for "strokers" and that's a rare bird in 750 words (Unless your nickname is Quickdraw)

I had expected/hoped that would be the case, since my 750 word story isn't too different from my other submissions aside from length.
