One of the things that amazes me is that people don't look at their past to see if the way they are living is optimal. You can see this in our government, where odd agencies get formed but never achieve the results that were wanted. Instead of ending this agency, it drones on and on sucking up resources and perhaps causing more harm than good.

Consider the CIA.

It's history could be construed as "One Cluster Fuck After Another," if you consider their actual results over the last 60 years.

...because we hear about everything the cia does...well, at least under this administration.

Under other Administrations we only hear about the agents they out for political reasons. Scooter Libby, please rise as your sentence is read

of all the pork offices in the federal government, you really want to start with the cia?

I'm just saying that you need to look at the results of their actions and judge then by their deeds not their press.

The FBI and the SEC are all similar.

The other alphabet soup agencies waste a ton more money, but the CIA causes a lot more damage.

I'm pretty certain we're not aware of a tenth of what the CIA has done so any judgement is kinda dumb.
Also, I'm not sure what the point of the criticism is. Are you saying we should abolish the agency? That's even dumber. A world power without spies isn't going to be a world power for very long.

Our real spies are the media.

Government agencies exist for 2 reasons: To distribute money to the elites, and to make full employment for people like Chelsea Clinton and the Kennedy Klan.
