.....I go in for my 2nd pre-op appt. for my impending knee surgery. I had a pre-op appt. about a month ago. When I arrived, I was told that my surgeon had been deployed and I'd be called. Couldn't they have called me so I could have saved myself the trip in? Of course not.

So....I'm rescheduled for surgery next Friday. My pre-op appt. is tomorrow at 0dark30. Well, not quite that early, but 7:50 is early enough for me. Now....will I get there only to be told that this other surgeon has been deployed?

Stay tuned tomorrow for the next episode of

Blue's Life As A Military Wife.

Aw, thanks, SD and NA. I appreciate your sweet words.

Yeah...the audacity of them expecting people to show up to be told to just go home. lol

just like the military to think that way, they don't realize that the rest of us have a life, even if we do spend it here at Lit. lol.

Yeah, ain't that the truth!

Why, just look at the time I could have spent here that day...25 minutes to drive to the hospital, another 15 to park and get in. 20 minutes in the waiting room, another 20 or so waiting in the exam room. 10 minutes for the resident to tell me the surgeon had been deployed and apologize for it (oh, please...I've been a military wife for 18 years...like I don't know these things happen; no need to bend over backward apologizing, although it was nice of him. He could have had the opposite attitude about it). 15 minutes back out to the car, 25 minutes home.

That was about 2 hours that I could have spent on Lit!

Good luck Blue! Hope everything works out well and that you do not make a wasted trip and you are up/around in no time flat. There sure have been alot of deployments here in Tx hasn't there? (Well I guess actually everywhere, but we hear of another group every day it seems. )

More proof of why Catch-22 is one of the best novels ever.

Good luck with that surgery, when and if they get around to it!
