36 years ago today, hockey legend Gordie Howe, then 52, played his first NHL game with his 2 sons as linemates.

In my book that's an outstanding parent-child memory.

In this thread you will speak of your proudest moments as a parent.

Parent+child lobotomy sessions were the best.

Sometimes at the end of the day when we lay on the bed, I get second thoughts about me not being the best person I can be towards them and when I tell them so they get emotional and they hug me and reply that I am the best mum in the whole world. If I managed to make them feel totally loved, then that's making me the proudest person on earth.

My three

Told my kids (now post voting age) that I never wanted children watching them grow up and mature hasn't changed my mind :D

My son's slapshot was clocked at 95mph in a skills competition at a hockey tournament when he was 12.

I was very proud that day.

Sadly, sharing any information about your personal life here when you have folks like Ishmael, Miles and Que around is not a good idea.

Just when you thought the groveller couldn't get any creepier...

My oldest son defending a special needs boy from some older kids harassment. He shamed those boys and ran them off with the purest and most righteous anger I have ever seen.

It made me both proud and sad.

Good one!

That's a "no" then. Good! Nobody should be saddled with your genes.

You're really bad at this, aren't you, groveller? Perhaps you'd be better off on a forum more your level? Mumsnet, maybe?

Love this Thread!

I was going to say when 16 year old made the Dean's List his first semester in college, and I was VERY proud.

But, nothing makes me more proud than seeing them helping out an older person by carrying groceries or items for them... or sharing their birthday money with their friends so they can ALL get something from the ice cream truck.

My daughter is a national university debate champion, which is a source of much pride for me, so I know what you mean.
