The new football thread

They were terrible with him last year and the year before that. Plus couldn’t afford to pay him. And he’s a “me” player and not a team player.

Sure it hurts a little in the short term, but overall a good trade.
A) they absolutely could afford pay him
B) even if you want to trade him that is a terrible haul
C) I need you to stop listening to what Jerry Jones says.

Okay…..could afford to. But $47M for a selfish one-trick pony is a mistake in the salary cap era and would have handicapped them horribly, especially given their cap position.

I’d take two first rounders and a good DT for him every time. He’s about himself and not the team and always has been.

And JJ should listen to me, but he never will.

You could have had him for 36 million last year so the 47 million argument is idiotic. Or 40 million after the season

As I said, stop listening to Jerry Jones. He has no desire to actually win he just wants you to keep enabling this loser franchise.

Dude…they tried to sign him at $43m and he turned it down. Even his agent said so. Laughed at it.

He just ain’t worth it. Good riddance.

However I don’t disagree about Jones. I’m critical as fuck and have been for a couple decades.

Yes after the market had already been reset 3 times.

And no you aren't you fully enable him

Enable who? You realize I have zero control over what they do, right? Just like you. Lmao…
Fans absolutely have control over what their franchise does in a macro sense. Fans have made the cowboys the most profitable franchise in all of sports with them showing no actually desire to improve. Do you think if Dallas fans had standards we would hold out on every big deal, which raises the price of it. We woukd trade a star receiver for a 5th round pick becuaee we were pissy. We would trade a top defender for pennies right before the season when only like 3 teams could actually trade for him. We would start a rookie qb over a prowl bowl qb in a playoff game, we would draft a rb in the top 5. We would not take a qb in the first round in 30 years. We would consistently be one of the lowest cash spending teams in the league? We would not sign a free agent over 10 million in a decade.

This is the behavior of an owner that has no fan accountability

I hate the owner. But I disagree. Fans have absolute -ZERO- control over what that dipshit does. But still love the Parsons trade and think it will pan out long term.

Ever been to Manchester United vs Manchester City?

It won’t be anything like that.
Have seen both those sides play but against my team, not each other.

Yeah I kind of figure there will be a few thousand exPats who genuinely support Rams/Jaguars but the vast majority will be curious Brits like myself
