The Great Dinner Throwdown

Made some Indonesian fried rice w/shrimp... (Nasi goreng)

It is the best fried rice ever! Even with the paper bowls.

Costco paper bowls? We use 'em at the cabin because we haul water and they are easily disposed of in the woodstove.

Beats melting snow for wash water...

Amazon subscribe and save! We use them from time to time because we feed about 6 people on Sundays. The kitchen is so small we don't have room for a dishwasher, so it saves on a few dishes.

I do feel a little guilty for using a lot of disposable paper products. However, not standing over the sink for an hour after dinner cures that guilt quickly.

Last night was a delightful italian american dish. Pasta in a nice sugo with sausage.

Ok spaghettios with hot dogs.

That looks awesome.
thanks, but looks are deceptive, unfortunately. i'm thinking maybe i let it overprove... recipe said 3 hours but it was doubled in size just around the hour mark. by the end of the 3 hours it had deflated just a little. dunno. found another to try so i'll see how that turns out :)

Pork, apple, and cheddar meatloaf is cooking. It's a mish mash with no real recipe, but I have a feeling it's gonna be delish.

I have a miracle boule on the counter proofing since yesterday afternoon.

I let one sit about an hour longer once - set the timer down then forgot it  - it had the same problem. It was workable, but nothing to write home about. You can always make croutons. :D

i tried some toast today with it... first time i've ever had bread that really really had a hard time toasting. seriously  in the end, it got a little colour on it and i buttered and jammed it. just about edible, very very crunchy, and very very filling :D

Browned some ground beef last night. One batch was for my version of Shit on a Shingle (macaroni, ground beef, mushroom soup) and one batch for tacos.

Pork chop, fresh homemade bread and garden grown tomatoes and veggies salad.
