Made some Thai fried rice w/shrimp... (Nasi goreng)
It is the best fried rice ever! Even with the paper bowls.
i feel your painit's that old-style way of cooking that renders everything a floppy, textureless blech

Costco paper bowls? We use 'em at the cabin because we haul water and they are easily disposed of in the woodstove.
Beats melting snow for wash water...
Amazon subscribe and save! We use them from time to time because we feed about 6 people on Sundays. The kitchen is so small we don't have room for a dishwasher, so it saves on a few dishes.
I do feel a little guilty for using a lot of disposable paper products. However, not standing over the sink for an hour after dinner cures that guilt quickly.
..

well here's the bread; the soup's still in the pot
thanks, but looks are deceptive, unfortunately. i'm thinking maybe i let it overprove... recipe said 3 hours but it was doubled in size just around the hour mark. by the end of the 3 hours it had deflated just a little. dunno. found another to try so i'll see how that turns outThat looks awesome.![]()

i tried some toast today with it... first time i've ever had bread that really really had a hard time toasting. seriouslyI have a miracle boule on the counter proofing since yesterday afternoon.
I let one sit about an hour longer once - set the timer down then forgot it- it had the same problem. It was workable, but nothing to write home about. You can always make croutons.

I have not made osso bucco for maybe 10 years. It's time to make it again.
It was very good and leftovers in the freezer. I used beef shanks.
A good butcher is a godsend. And so is a freezer in the garage.
