Me.

Yep....in a few short weeks I will be joining the wise old grandfather sect. Jesus Christ I was hoping this wouldn't happen for a long time yet. Oh well guess I will have to deal with it.

My daughter surprised us with this news back in late January. Seems like just yesterday she was the one in diapers, now she will be changing them. Not me! Now I can just hand her (yes, it's a girl) over to her mother and say "Here ya go" Same thing after I am done spoiling her. Just send her home when she gets whiny.

This does beg the question as to which way kids should be raised. I mean, this isn't the best timing. Should you be upfront and honest about sex and birth control(like we were) or do ya do the sex is for married folks only shtick like the religious wing nuts? She has two more years of college left and now a baby to raise. The father will be there too, we expect them to get married someday, but not right now. The stress of making a new marriage work along with raising baby would almost guarantee a disaster.

Life is going to be tough for her but she will manage...

She does look rather cute...and it does balance out her backpack filled with books.

I wonder if my daughter will object to me taking the kid to her first rock concert? I am sure AC/DC will still be hitting it...or even the 'Stones eh?

*now where is that cane*

"In my day we only had cable modems...and we had to actually type the words out...not think them and suddenly they appear like you whippersnappers do with your weird contraptions..."

Congrapulations...don't further corrupt our youth with your rock music you rebel...

Are you kidding?

I'll have her head banging before she's potty trained!

Leather didies...

Some tiny little boots with chains...

My daughter is gonna have a stroke when grandpa brings the baby out....:D

congrats pops :D

I don't know if the still make them, but my oldest had a pair of Baby Doc Martins, no chains though.

Thanks Kitten

I will improvise;)

Need to get a system for her baby carriage.

hehe, baby's first Corvette

Somewhere I've seen replica Grand Sport wheels that will fit a stroller.

Finally got up enough nerve to spill the news, huh? Like I told you earlier, you'll make a great grandpa! And now you'll have an excuse to meet me in Disney World. ;)

Chicken. You should have told a long time ago.
Gramps. *snicker*

Chains for the baby booties? Hmm. I saw some that might do just last weekend. Tiny little silver chains.

Your new sig line: Flaming liberal head banging grandpa! :D

Now I have visions of Thumper with a walker yelling "let's roll!"

:D

Congratulations! I think you will be a great grandpa. I am going to be the coolest aunty on the block with Cheyenne, maybe we can all hang out at DisneyWorld together.

Addressing the sex talk thing, I think kids should be given all the information we can give them & then we hope they make wise choices. I would bet that your daughter will do fine, she has a good support system.

Naww, he'd be the wheel chair type. The motorized ones, so he can terrorize people and chase women.

*snort*

Congrats Thumper!

I think you'll definitely be the coolest Grandfather ever!!

Congrats, Thumper. Desmond Morris, the Naked Ape, with the bggest penis of all the primates, reckons that its grandparants who really transmit values and beliefs - no kid listens to their parents - and even if what you will say as a grandpa doesn't appear to be taken in - it reverbrates like a base guitar in the grandchild's subconscious and sticks there.

So, in 20 years, a great new musical wave will rock us in our rocking chairs. The MacThumpersons.

Congrats Thumper, I think you will make a cool grandpa!
