Dying for Sex. Streaming now on Hulu. Based on a true story.
My wife and I watched this and loved it. Michelle Williams stars as a 30-something married woman who thought she had beaten breast cancer only to learn, years later, that it has spread, leaving her with very little time left.
Since her mastectomy three years earlier, her douchebag husband hasn't had sex with her despite her near constant pleas for his affection. Why? Because he's turned off by her body since her surgery and now see's her more as a frail patient than the beautiful person she continues to be.
Now, with so little time left, she decides to leave her husband to make up for the sex she wasn't having while married, the sex she'll never get to have after she dies, and a yearning to assert her power over intrusive memories of being sexually abused as a child.
It's hilarious and gut-wrenching and serves as a compelling reminder to all that life is short and sex is a joyful and important part of it. ...So, you'd better get all you can while you can.
It's a must see for Lit fans, I think...
