Figure skating is one of the few winter sports I enjoy watching... to me its like a combination of gymnastics and dancing... both of which have been a part of my life.

The canadian woman was a real cutie too!

I've always thought that it would be fun to score the music someday for ice dancing...

Canadian pairs stars Jamie Salé and David Pelletier stirred a capacity crowd with their Love Story routine Monday night at the Olympic Games, brought the spectators to their feet — and won the silver medal.

It's the first competition that Salé and Pelletier have lost since the fall of 2000. And once again, Canadian figure skaters missed out on the gold medal. It has been a 42-year drought, and despite the fact the Olympics aren't over, chances are good that it will last another four years.

The crowd booed long and hard at the judges' decision, perhaps sensing how magical had been that performance, and despite an accident in the warm-up that sent Salé reeling to the ice.

Salé collided with Russian Anton Sikharulidze who, with his winsomely beautiful partner Elena Berezhnaia, won the gold. The collision sent Salé to her knees on the ice, while Sikharulidze spun out of control onto his hands. He righted himself quickly, but as soon as he saw that Salé was still down, in pain, he rushed to her aid. Finally she got up and left the ice on her own power.

The last Canadian figure skaters to win an Olympic gold medal were pairs skaters Barbara Wagner and Bob Paul at Squaw Valley in 1960. They sat in the front row, across from the judges.

The German, Canadian and Japanese judges ranked the Canadians first. Judges from Russia, China, France, Poland, and Ukraine opted for the Russians.

Salé and Pelletier made no mistakes. Sikharulidze made a turn after a double Axel-double toe loop combination, and their triple twist smashed against his chest. . .

The Canadians were screwed, their performance was absolutely flawless from what I could see.

The Russians made a couple of noticeable boo-boos, but the beauty of their movement was unmatched, I was mesmerized by the lady in red.

It's hard to put into words.

I think knowing that women were watching them would make them a nice size.....even with the cold, but I know what you mean. My last bf was a nice size, but after being outside in the winter here, it was pretty small. But with a little work and warmth, it was pretty nice.

A caller to a local Sports Talk show here in Las Vegas said there is some talk beginning in Salt Lake that there was collusion and conspiracy involved -- a trade of the French vote now for the Russian vote in Ice Dance.

I suppose it's a possibility.
