Making the choice to end your life. Euthenasia, and should it be allowed?

If I had the choice to go out looking at those beautiful nature scenes while listening to Beethoven's 6th Symphony, or to lie in a hospital bed for months stuck full of tubes and having nurses wipe my ass... there's no doubt in my mind what I'd choose.

Eat me.

Beautiful beautiful Ludwig Van and now me not being able to listen to it...

Ah, listen to my lament my droogs!

Brothers, we all go!

As one, as won.

Pretty much.

That's horrible. I am sorry. Normally, if a case is terminal, they'll just keep increasing the morphine so that there isn't any pain.

I think he was on some kind of drip. I don't know the particulars. I just know that he was really pissed about it right up until the minute he died. We couldn't give him the funeral he wanted either. He wanted a 'burial by air' and our county won't let you do that. Probably because it's gross as hell. You basically put the body up on a hill and wait for it to decompose/get eaten by things. Instead we built a mosoleum. So... you know, the exact opposite of what he wanted.

It's a very tough question. I worked as a nurse and a man wanted to choose his time to die and his method. He took a gun and put it in his mouth. But the gun jerked and it went though his head and out his ear. He was in bad shape. It also concerns me that a persons emotional state may hinder their decision. When I was young I had a serious desire to kill myself while depressed but I am so glad that it didn't happen. The bigger problem that I see occurring is that other people will try to determine when someone else should die. In the name of compassion the elderly who have so much to contribute will be offed. Like I said it's a tough question.

That is one problem with a******...

And that is what the discussion will always be ultimately about.
